So Britain has gone from defeating the Germans single handed to being too weak and feeble to help an ally that they had pledged to help? Lest we forget, both France and Britain had pledged to help the Czechs and Poles, and had they done so then they would have brought considerably greater military muscle to bear on the problem than any of them could in isolation. Working together and a lot could have been done when Germany was comparatively weak. As it is, Britain's cold feet emboldened the French cold feet, and bugger all was done until Germany was considerably stronger.

Had a quick look at the Mercosur deal. It appears it has been active since 1999, in 2016 they entered into new negotiations to improve it. And what exactly makes you think we can get those deals through quicker?

We currently dont have any deals with anyone. We manage on deals setup with the rest of the world as part of the EU... keep throwing that line, doesn't make it any more real.

Aligning taxation simply means that we cant get an advantage over the other members by cutting tax, which is fair.

The Mercosur deal has not yet been done. By active I assume you mean that some activity is taking place on it. Everyone and his dog has been throwing in a veto because 28 now 27 countries still cannot agree it. If you cannot see how much quicker it would be dealing with a single country rather than 27 then I can’t help you.

The ‘deals‘ set up by the EU added up to sod all. It was not until the U.K. voted to leave that the EU panicked and pushed through the deals with Canada and Japan. The U.K. will roll those deals over.

No other country in the world has been asked to align taxation with the EU, and no one would, so why would we ?....

I haven't refused to answer. I said, they should have kept their word. At the time the British, French and Czech forces were far superior to the German forces. We chose not to fight out of cowardice in the hope that giving a maniac a part of another country would satisfy him.
