I love this one. You actually cant help having some sympathy with him as he tries to rationalise it...he's almost an intellectual amongst that lot.

I don’t have an ounce of sympathy for anyone who 4 years in is still wilfully ignorant of the actual facts and is coming out with comments like ‘we can have our infrastructure back’ ffs.

Yes, but it's not a sympathy with his position on Brexit, just a sympathy for his utter inability to take it all in and understand the ramifications of it.

I wished they'd just be honest and come right out with it: "We did it because we want Britain white again and no foreigners here, like in the 1940s and 50s...oh, and we did it for the Lols and a huge piss up".

Free trade agreements, its what we used to do before joining the EEC and then having to impose tariffs on stuff from around the World. The rest of the world is opening up again to trade and the economies outside of the Eu are growing at faster rates. The EU is what it is, a protectionist bloc.....

That was nearly 50 years ago - this country is a different country and ridiculous to use then as any barometer for now.
The speed of emerging economies is exactly why we need a strong union. We are small and we will become less and less important.

It would be perhaps more grown up to share some of the trade deals Liam Fox said would be announced today.
the trade deal will come Bruce arguing pre EU stance is now over we have left the next 11 months are crucial for the UK - I remember when Ted Heath took us out without a vote in 1973 the food prices soared as we lost our commonwealth status - it took five years to settle down - you won't remember the food mountains under the CAP policy - the trade was then good objectors caused two referendums which the result was to stay in a trade deal which I voted twice to stay in as it had settled down ... not a polictical union hence the leave vote won... we are out its over unless we beg to go back in which I very much doubt...

You know the funny thing about these interviews on the news with clueless people over brexit is being used as ammunition as to it being a bad idea.

It was the conservatives who gave the country the referendum to begin with, to give those people that chance to vote. Said leader then quit when the vote didn't go his way.

It was Boris Johnson who fronted the leave campaign and apparently lied to the country in the process.

Half of the remain supporters didn't vote to begin with yet are shocked at the result.

And this country , leave or remain overwhelmingly voted for the party that gave us the referendum and for the man who lied to them in the campaign for it.

You want to talk about horrible nasty agendas, take a long hard look at yourselves. For every person calling leave voters racist, for saying the vote was about xenophobia , racism , stupid people . For every single one of you that has attacked verbally the leave voters for 3 and a half years.

You are the problem. Because despite all the little details of leave remain and the rest of it, the ones to blame for all of this have been backed again and again. For all the bile thrown at leave voters you can't accept others had a different opinion to you. That is why we are leaving the EU , that's why austerity will destroy half the country and that is why labour is dead. You won't accept difference of opinion to your own , which is why there was never another discussion. Why open dialogue with remainers when they can't accept a referendum result?

The conservatives have been elected three times since 2010 , the ones who lied , the ones who even ran the apparently stupid referendum to begin with.

Yet noone has aimed their anger at the conservatives , they keep voting for them again and again. They are still there, still in power. You are so against leaving the EU, when did you call David Cameron to rights? The government got an overwhelming majority , why did you vote for the person who lied to the country?

Stop blaming you fellow citizens and start blaming the real reason we left the EU. You have at least 5 years to do it.

At 11pm last night I was driving and put Talk Radio - a right wing station - on out of interest.

At around 11:03pm, they played a song from 1943 about the "huns" called Don't Let's Be Nasty to the Germans".

Says it all about what Brexit was and is. Not even pretending anymore. Nasty xenophobia and misplaced nationalism over common sense.
Noel Coward song:

"Let's help the swine again, to occupy the Rhine again, but let's not be beastly to the Hun".
