Little late in the process to start with itony it's already started performing badly house hold debt is as high as ever, even simple day to day items are now on the get now pay later. Get Brexit done. I was indeed worried about people's jobs, even 2 or 3 year down turn will have dire consequences for many working people. It's why I voted remain, won't be taking a lesson from a suddenly concerned Brexiteer on people and their jobs, you wanted Brexit grow and pair and own it.
If by "itony" you meant irony, then I don't get where that comes from. I really don't.

And buy now pay later is not a new thing. It's been going on for years. There are many people in this country who are in debt due to genuine hardship. But the majority in debt now are there because they want things now rather than being prepared to wait until they can afford it. Many different reasons for it I grant you. Wanting bigger houses, newer cars, better schools for their kids or even paying for private schools, peer pressure. The list goes on, but one thing all have in common is that they know they can't afford it but make a conscious decision to buy it anyway. It's been going in for years, well before Brexit, and has absolutely nothing to do with Brexit.

The problem is, people like you will pick up on any piece of bad news and blame it on Brexit. And any piece of good news is despite of Brexit.

As regards growing a pair and owning it, I'm pretty sure I did that in my previous post. What do you want me to do, blow my own brains out?

But once again you're evading the point I'm making. That is that you actually WANT Brexit to fail even though the likelihood is that even you yourself will be worse off. You would rather that happen than Brexit be a success. Just so you could say you were right.

Still can't quite get my head around it.

I would consider myself quite stable financially at the moment. Imagine tomorrow, going in to work and resigning, knowing that 'for a few years there'll be a downturn' but in the hope that for the years after that there mightn't (although no-one actually knows).

Even when people write this I can't actually believe they believe it themselves. I guess it's easier to admit than the real reasons.

Haven't we all. But were white so it's OK to call us racist.

lots of stuff has been said and I’m sure some accurate and some offensive but I can’t believe you’re not sensible enough to believe race/immigration/dislike of foreigners has been a huge part of the whole debate .

Every phone In I Listen to around 80/90% of leavers start off on different points but usually get to immigration . It’s a factor and yeah tempers have become raised in this thread , a lot of gibberish has been written , circular arguments had and several times the same race/immigration issues come to the fore . I’m not accusing race of driving you but it’s certainly a factor for a decent sized proportion. I’m not even saying that being concerned about immigration makes you a racist by the way but a lot of people these days , don’t seem to get the concern and why so many get so distressed about it and that does lead to heated discussion.

We will always need imigration ......as long as we do not train our you stare into trades of all aspects, that's fine by me always has been the fact now it will be on a monitoring
system - work visas etc like most big countries outside the EU is fine by me too,
It was not the main reason, I just wanted a trade deal friendship withe EU without the political union .......

You got me there.

The comments were still ageist though, even if they were made by an old white man.lol

I genuinely want Brexit to work from an economic point of view. I don’t wish the potential financial catastrophe on anyone.

As someone who had a long career with an American company with a huge global presence, I have friends all over Europe and further afield and I am, above all, saddened and not a little concerned, at the wave of xenophobia and yes, outright racism, that Brexit unleashed.

I sincerely hope it settles down but that genie is a difficult one to put back in the bottle. Far too many little Englanders have been encouraged by this whole bunfight and whilst I completely accept that for some people this was about sovereignty of parliament and economics I’m afraid I have heard first hand, too many comments regarding “them Muslims”, “protecting our women” and “two world wars” to hold out too much hope

I live in a North Eastern town that just turned Tory for the first time since WW2. I know, believe me, that the anger was directed at foreigners rather than the consecutive useless British governments we have suffered through. This was Farage and the Daily Mail et al’s tactics for many years. The blame has gone to the wrong target no matter what some people thought the ends were

The ends are further enriching the already rich

Brexit would never have happened without mobilising the right wing hate vote. Very rich people beat the racist drum for their own financial reasons and we are where we are now.

I accept that people voted for valid reasons, weighed up what Europe delivers against what they believed the U.K. could achieve alone. Well intended indeed but the vote would still never have carried without the Tommy Robinsons’ of this world summoning his bigoted ilk to form an X on the ballot.

An uncomfortable truth but still the truth.

I’ll accept that’s what you’re saying joe and I’m not going to trawl through here as I’m just off out but firstly I didn’t say you it was a general observation and secondly for someone whose apparently pro immigration as you’ve just presented yourself my , admittedly failing , memory seems to recall you talking and posting a lot about open borders . Maybe that’s just how it’s to me across , by the way being concerned over immigration doesn’t make you racist before you think I’m accusing you of anything .

I admit I am for free movement has ended and we will have now a controlled immigration system in place , but more importantly try to train UK youngsters into proper qualified trades ....it's the UKs fault we tend to send them to uni not every student is geared to exams non vocational training in a workplace needs expanding imo.....

Quite. Its madness. Like @peteblue saying the UK no longer paying its annual subs to the EU is a benefit of leaving even though every independent analysis shows the UK earns back more than it pays in.

It's like leaving your golf club to save the annual membership fee then rocking up the next day to ask for a deal on its rates for individual rounds cos you still want to play golf at your local club!

But Pete I for one still believe the referendum was swung by a right wing elite conning a great swathe of idiots to self-harm.
