Big fan of @havrey0123 ’s manifesto launch. You work in politics i take it mate?
Ye here is my manifesto
1)have a 4 day week
2)nationalise energy rail broadband
3)free uni and bus fare for all
4) try and get a deal with the EU for either leave or remain, (yes you heard me right)
5)ban MI5 and sas from existing, destroy all nukes and any other weapons as there not needed, also disband the army as there not needed.
6) all this will be paid for by taxing the rich until they leave the country and then heavy borrowing.

No wait someone tried that and failed miserably.

As I’ve said several time’s I have my doubts but I genuinely hope it’s a success . I notice the majority of the leavers in the thread currently seem to be suggesting that there will be a degree of ‘downturn ‘ or ‘ hardship’ Before the good time’s roll . Was this a theory proposed by leaver proponents prior to the referendum ? Serious question as I’m not certain , I don’t recall a lot of it but I suppose why would I , but a lot of this seems to be post result realigning of position . To be clear I don’t necessarily mean to sound as I’m accusing individual posters here of that more a general observation of how the overall position seems to have shifted .
How will any ‘success’ be gauged? There will be so much spin attached no one will know what to believe. Like the fudged unemployment figures. Coupled with the fact we have the most duplicitous PM since modern times. A man without morals.

Success for many people will simply be seeing less foreigners about and a growth in seeing xenophobic tendencies become even more mainstream.

There can be no success. It’s a disgrace.

Fair play mate. Agree with a lot of that.

Listen I certainly think that’ll be the case but given where we are being proved right will give me no pleasure

But you completely disregarded the point I was making. That you actually want the country to perform badly so you will be proved right. You seemed to be celebrating at the thought of us not getting a trade deal with the US. Will you feel the same way if the negotiations with the EU fail too, just so you can be proved right. Even though thousands of people could lose their jobs as a result.
Little late in the process to start with itony it's already started performing badly house hold debt is as high as ever, even simple day to day items are now on the get now pay later. Get Brexit done. I was indeed worried about people's jobs, even 2 or 3 year down turn will have dire consequences for many working people. It's why I voted remain, won't be taking a lesson from a suddenly concerned Brexiteer on people and their jobs, you wanted Brexit grow and pair and own it.

It’s amazing how many Brexiters are now trumpeting the idea that they somehow all voted to be poorer, but only for while, well...a period of time they can’t define, but it doesn’t matter, long term it’ll all be gravy apparently. I also don’t remember this being a common theme pre or even post the vote, it’s something that appears to have become a revisionist thing in the last 6 months or so.

I noted today that Rees Mogg and few others have gone back through their twitter comments and deleted anything that related to ‘no deal’ being the best option and their criticism of Mays deal. Trying to expunge their lies from the record, fortunately there’s plenty of screenshots. :)

One thing you can absolutely hang your hat on, is that when the Unicorns don’t appear, then the likes of Farage will refuse to accept that Brexit itself was to blame, merely that we did the wrong sort of Brexit and it’d have all been absolutely brilliant if only we’d have done this type of Brexit. But all 17.4m definitely voted for the same thing you know.....

Echoing my thoughts there really mate although I was more idly speculating whilst you seem more aware of events .

A downturn post Brexit was project fear mate, but it’s now somehow morphed into what they all knew would happen apparently, they want us to seriously believe they all voted to be poorer.

It’s gone from having our cake and eating it, to there’ll be no cake for years, but we knew that and when it eventually comes it’ll be a lovely cake - honest. In the meantime we’ll make do with a ten bob bit, a blue passport and losing our freedom of movement. Marvellous, crack open the English sparkling wine Beryl.
