Independence Day.... ffs, talk about diluting and insulting all those across the world throughout history who actually fought and died for actual independence.

I still can't see viable reasons that aren't pipe dreams for leaving but doesn't matter if it goes badly, no lessons will be learned. They never are.

Our public services have been undeniably falling apart for years and the voting public's response was to overwhelmingly vote for the same people who are responsible.

No one will take responsibility for this in the future it will be all finger pointing and blame game stuff just like we have now. The problem is, the difficulties that Brexit will create won't be large single and easy to quantify. What the modern populists have realised is that the vast majority of the electorate don't pay attention to the details.

Unless the country crumbles and sinks into the sea, there will still be 40% of people who will argue that Brexit is great. Evidence increasingly holds less and less weight and the people on the street can find whatever truth they want.

All we will have is the same pointless arguments about which leader would be best to have a pint with and never a consensus that Brexit is self sabotage and needless.

We are witnessing divide and conquer before our very eyes and the response is ''you lost get over it''. People think we are going to unleash Britain's potential whilst not realising we aren't opening doors here we are closing them. By what metric would Brexit go well? By what mechanism would it facilitate that success? We are not restrained in any meaningful way by the EU, so being 'unleashed' as Johnson loves to say is impossible.
In about 97 years time we might be back to where we are now but 'they' are not telling us what to do. As we live under a government with a big majority, but yet again less than half of the vote, people think we have rescued our democracy. We have not got a real one.

As yet more jobs leave the new tory working class regions they will blame the EU. I offended some people when the vote happened by saying Turkey's voted for Christmas. Now they have even nominated the butcher who campaigned to make the slaughter as painful as possible. Yes Sunderland, Rees Mogg really has your best interests at heart. His superior intelligence alone would have ensured his survival at Grenfell. The man for the job with his glove puppet Boris.

It's not in my interests. I suspect it's not in the interests of many including millions who think it's a panacea.

I'm sure they'll keep drinking the Kool Aid when we find someone else to blame our problems on... Who do you think will be next?
As they voted for a deal without a clue of its content it is truly safe to say the country is populated by the brain dead. Get Brexit Done resonated with them because three words is the maximum they can cope with.

what defence programme...
You must have missed the bit that in the defence review which states continuing to build a UK Milatray that slots into USA Milatray.

Only we had two ships nicked by Iran back in the summer, which USA just turned round and said your on your own factor in our distances in current Iran situation.

America First Policy, playing out and we don't figure any more. The geopolitical world of xenophobia.

She's either really stupid or deliberately misleading. Where's your money?

Maybe she didn't get the memo that to hold onto the serfs they conned they're going to have to restrict the *free* market and expand the state.

There's going to be an ideological battle in the Tory Party that'll dog them this parliament: between neo-liberal zealots like her and the 'blue collar' Tories (Lol) who'll be looking to consolidate 'oooop north'.

Good luck with squaring that circle.
