If we get an extension till 31 January but they still turn down a December election, then what is their excuse?

They are simply just scared of losing. Career politicians in not voting for Christmas shocker....

So no general election happening in December or indeed the foreseeable future.

I ask again what happens to Boris bill in that case ? Does it get pulled? If yes, then what ?

They have to vote first dont they? Not sure they have.

Other than that, I am as clueless as most are.

No just goggled tax payers alliance miffed that Scotland get the most plus keep some of the oil/gas income.....
Pretty sure they are second mate.

I could be wrong but I think part of the reason for that is the increased spend on public services due to the Scottish population being more widely spread out than its counterparts.

Would brexit not have played a very big part in a increased desire to leave the union, it wont necessarily be down to nationalism as it will a far more rational desire for a better future. I don't know by the way, just a suggestion.
I live in Edinburgh, this is how I see it. I think it was Bruce who mentioned about living in a more open and tolerant world. This is the feeling I get in Scotland, nothing to do with hating anyone else

From the Treasury themselves Joey

In 2017/18, public spending per person in the UK as a whole was £9,350. In England, it was £9,080 (3% below the UK average). This compares with:

  • Scotland: £10,881 (16% above the UK average)
  • Wales: £10,397 (11% above the UK average)
  • Northern Ireland £11,190 (20% above the UK average).
Among the English regions, public spending per person was lowest in the South East at £8,297 (11% below the UK average) and highest in London at £10,323 (10% higher than the UK average).

It would do you the power of good to stop equating the contribution a country makes or takes from others in sommet more rounded than ££££.

The list of Scottish, Wales, and NI contributions to the standing, culture, innovation, arts, engineering, banking, insurance, sport etc etc that makes up the current UK are incredible. World changing, and world class.

But no. Scots get £25 more per year per capita than some bloke in Lincoln trumps all that.

Oh. Forgot music.

Edinburgh is just sound as. Spent many many days up there in a previous life. Worked for a company in Lothian Road. Sure you know the one.
