in 2017, when Labour were in a worse mess than they are now
If you’re saying he’s justified in accepting the election now then you are ignoring the fact that the rebel alliance are actually controlling a lot of parliamentary business which they weren’t in 2017 pre election. Plus they have the ability to cripple The PM over brexit via delays etc.

No, I am saying he isnt a coward (because he accepted a much worse situation in 2017) - and your second point isn't exactly true. The rebels can block government business, but they can't form a government themselves.

You're missing the fact he'd look utterly and irredeemably stupid if he refuses it.

Honestly mate, the GE happens on the 12th as soon as the extension is agreed, as long as it takes us to January.
I’ve given you multiple reasons why he should (and will) reject

you’ve come up with he’ll look stupid which is a very weak reason, and ignores the fact that most people think he looks stupid now anyway!

If brexit/withdrawal bill does go through earlier than sooner then it's only the beginning of protracted negotiations with the EU and others regarding trade deals amongst other issues, presuming the tories have a majority in a GE (personally think it will be a hung parliament). That's also presuming there is a GE. The present minister for Trade and Industry is one Liz Truss who presumably have a large part to play in any such negotiations? Oh dear

The point is to discredit Johnson and claw back his lead

If he refuses an election now, with no deal off the table, he will be totally and completely unelectable forever. Even his own supporters will turn on him.

If the extension is to January, the GE happens 12 December, no doubt in my mind.

Yes I can just see radicalised momentum supporters voting for Swinson - not.

They've done the first one (as has Johnson), and the Labour leadership probably think an election is the best way of taking his lead away.

I would be surprised if Labour reject this - if its certain there is an extension, it is agreed by the EU before the vote on the election, and if the date cannot be changed by the MP (which it can be under FTPA).

Feck the polls.....the media have been smearing him since he became Labour leader and have let the lying charlatan in number 10 get away with murder.....
Yeah and they’ll drill him again once the campaign is underway. Honestly I can’t support an election from a labour point of view now. Suicide.
