Has he said there will be an extension? The Guardian is reporting it as he will try to get a week for the deal to go through, and then have an election (so the election is contingent on the deal passing):

He needs 2/3 of Parliament to agree to it. He can't just say 'we will have an election'. It's Parliaments decision.

It wouldn't because parliament wouldn't have been in session for the 31st, so we could have left on no deal 'by accident' because we couldn't vote it down.

I'm 99% certain there's an election on the 12th December now.
