I have posted this elsewhere so apologies for repeating, genuinely interested to know where things stand with Johnson’s letters to the Eu ? The last I heard were the Scottish courts have adjourned pending a response from the Eu , not heard anything after that except a suggestion that Johnson is in the clear

And they also have the option to opt out, let’s not forget this. The decision has moved from the EU to NI......

Yes, Pete. They could opt out if there is a cross-party consensus that a part of the UK that voted to Remain should instead establish a border between there and the Republic, at a time when we will probably be in some form of economic crisis.

As an aside, did you know that you have the option to try and swim to the United States?

The EU has a right under this deal to have officials at the entry points to ensure the checks are correct and that customs duties are being imposed (which is going to in effect mean that there are probably going to be a lot of them given the volume of checks required), and Varadkar is not merely doing what he is obliged to do per the GFA - he floated out of the Wirral as if on a cloud.
Because he was happy that the chances of a breakthrough had been increased, same as everyone else.

But if you know what motivates An Taoiseach better than me then who am I to disagree. He's only my boss after all.

I controlled major projects all around the world. I oversaw the transfer of large manufacturing outfits (50,000+) to other companies, working within the laws of a number of differing countries. I controlled the building of programmes in the multi billions, contracts in the multi billions, and the rationalisation of companies in countries from the USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, China Japan and beyond. I worked with governments as diverse as India, Russia and Brazil as well as those mentioned above. I have seen the world my friend, I have contacts all over the world, and am still invited to gatherings that only those who belong will be invited to. However I am now retired and am enjoying my current life. I’m enjoying what I now am, retired......

But they won't. The UK authorities are mean and spiteful when it comes to their people who have had the temerity to leave their shores.
They despise us and will throw us under the bus.
And the brexiteers will clap and cheer and say it's our own fault.

No we won’t, and I would personally be disgusted if that ever happened. I’ve said before that I have kids living in the USA, Saudi and the Philippines, none retired granted, but I do have a little understanding of the issues in living abroad.....

How many countries are in the world ?. How many countries have a bigger population, how many countries have a bigger land mass, how many countries have more natural resources, but how many countries have a bigger economy ?.....

That’s been done either as part of a MASSIVE empire or as part of the E.U.?

A little may well be correct

Legally he will be in the clear, even the guy that headed the court case admitted this. The court, who remember have no political ambitions, have decided to delay and see what happens.... the Remainers are cock a hoop for some reason......

Sorry, but I disagree. The implications of that deal are obvious, hence the outrage from the unionists, and I have a really hard time believing that the PM of the state who would benefit from it would not realise that.

I have already indicated in my reply above which I can only assume you didn't read properly, that I am more than happy to live under a Labour administration....still await your responses on your "economic chaos" theory....don't deflect and I might have more respect.
Still waiting for your response...thanks in anticipation.

But I would be prepared to bet, and I don’t gamble, that the little is a lot more than your knowledge of the subject....

oh so wrong. You see, I ran a massive corporation that dealt with some of the biggest and best and you wouldn’t believe how much it dealt with around the world. In many ways it would be unbelievable.
