Fair enough, not sure what you mean by"still invited to gatherings that only "those who belong" would be invited to" . I have spent 47 years of my life supporting and helping folk who are less fortunate than me and I am also retired. You, for all your claims of "internationalism" (whatever you think that means) still support a party which is destroying the country and only look after their moneyed big business friends.....enjoy your little bubble.

But that’s not what I do my friend. I have seen both sides, experienced both sides and I have no real love of moneyed big business, only what it can do for those who have fewer options. I now own a pub, with friends, it just about breaks even, but it employs 5/6 who wouldn’t have jobs from the village I live. This is as far removed from my previous life as it’s possible to get, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world......

Oh have we all got our @peteblue bingo cards? If you’ve got ‘I run a Pub’, ‘I was super duper important’, ‘I know all people in all countries’ or general personal abuse, you’ll be getting close to a full house.

I controlled major projects all around the world. I oversaw the transfer of large manufacturing outfits (50,000+) to other companies, working within the laws of a number of differing countries. I controlled the building of programmes in the multi billions, contracts in the multi billions, and the rationalisation of companies in countries from the USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, China Japan and beyond. I worked with governments as diverse as India, Russia and Brazil as well as those mentioned above. I have seen the world my friend, I have contacts all over the world, and am still invited to gatherings that only those who belong will be invited to. However I am now retired and am enjoying my current life. I’m enjoying what I now am, retired......
Regardless of topic, the core of any argument by @peteblue seems to be 'i am better than you' which is in direct contrast to all available evidence.

If, as you say, you have "seen both sides" why do you vote Tory? I do not understand how you can support a racist lying set of right wingers who are pushing this country towards the edge of the cliff and encouraging animosity and hatred towards their fellow citizens....obviously it doesn't affect you does it. Just because I am retired doesn't mean I stop caring about those who are less fortunate than me and it never will....good job there's still many like myself left eh?

4 main things.
Residential status in France. Titre de séjour etc.
Continued coverage of CPAM medical care, with the carte vitale.
Potential crash of the pound on leaving eu.
Possibility of pension freezing by the UK.

Remember 1.5M brits live and work in the EU27.

See, now these are real issues.

I thought that the U.K. and France were sorting out the residential status, excuse me if I’m wrong.

I also thought that medical care would be in the same package.

The pound unfortunately is the pound and will vary according to market forces, which you knew when you moved to France. The pound however can just as easily go up as well as down depending on how well we in the U.K. perform after Brexit. Though I do understand your concerns.

There are far more EU citizens in the U.K. than U.K. in the EU, I’m sure sensible arrangements will be worked out, why wouldn’t they ?......

He left about 6 hours ago because people were calling him out on his claim that his life is directly impacted by EU regulations and citing VAT as his example.

His resurfacing again and changing the subject is just his way of avoiding any actual detail.

I vote Tory because the alternative is Corbyn and economic chaos. Let’s be honest here, would you put your house and all you own in the hands of the Tories or Labour. Forget everything else, what would you do......

Pete the pound will weaken because the economy will weaken. It's as simple as that. Theres no ifs or maybes. No bank or major finance house is suggesting anything other than a decidedly negative medium term after a hellish bad short term.
