Ireland has always been an EU pawn in the game. I’ve always said so. It’s been played to the end and we now are where we are. The card has been played, Boris has thrown it back and a compromise has been agreed. It’s a great deal for NI and allows the deal to move forward. I thought you would be happy...
That line alone confirms the very point I am making. You still refuse to acknowledge that we have our own interests and many of those are copperfastened in the GFA.

You see us as a bargaining chip and nothing more.

This is exactly why Johnston has had to agree the deal, no legal way out of it. Complete ignorance to your own country’s obligations. No moral way out either but that has never held a Tory back.

Can't wait for my weekly food bill to go down after 31/10..also my utilities payments, car insurance, and all the other wonderful benefits promised after leaving...it won't benefit me at all. If any of you leavers on here can enlighten me then I would be greatful..thanks in advance.

No mate. You are believing that you are being dismissed and demeaned. Of course both NI and ROI have their own interests and as you say they are in the GFA. But in the big world, and I know this will sound terrible, but there are only so many countries that the EU and the rest of the world take seriously, and the ROI is not one of them. The U.K. , like it or lump it is unfortunately a big player. This is due to economy, political clout and military strength. Now you can do any analysis that you want, but the ROI does not register on any of those measures. I know it’s not fair but it is what it is.....you were a bargaining chip between two major players, you played it well, but it’s now over......

What a load of utter bollocks.

Been asking from the start of this thread for a leaver to give just one example of how they, as an individual, would be better off due to a Brexit. Still waiting.

Again you dismiss Ireland as a bargaining chip.

And again you say it’s over and Ireland is not to be taken seriously.

You have been saying this for 2 years. Jesus wept, flick on the news Pete.

Im not even attempting to debate economies here, I am just re-stating what I have done for years that Brexit will hinge on how London resolves their own border.

Perhaps you should have a word with the Speaker of the US House of Representatives about her views on any future UK trade deal. Then maybe she's not a "major player ".
