Why ? They know that parliament do not want a no deal. They know that Boris will win an election and could then force through a no deal. They quite rightly in my opinion believe that Boris will push it through at either the first second or third attempt while the clock runs down.....

If Boris wins an election with a majority then his deal will get through Parliament. Boris can't now campaign for a no deal, he'll have to campaign for his deal. If the right divide their vote between the Tories and the Brexit Party and cannot form a coalition then the left will either revoke article 51 or hold a referendum.

So whatever happens in the election, the EU wins unless ofcourse the Brexit Party gets a majority, but it won't.

In your scenario the EU risks a no deal. Also you are assuming that Parliament wouldn't just revoke article 51 before October 31st, which they would if they were faced with a cliff edge. In that sense perhaps you are right - perhaps they have agreed in the hope 51 gets revoked, but I highly doubt it.

We'll see a slow trickle of a few Labour MPs declare they're ready to support this, like that waste of a parliamentary seat Smeeth.

If we count the 10 DUP divvies as filing through the No lobby, there seems like a better than even chance this deal is knocked back.

One wonders where Hoey is on this as well - if her Nigel is against it, and Arlene (and she may have had dinner with her last night) you'd think she would give this the thumbs down as well.

It may be. But once rejected and then the EU reject an extension, what then. With the clock ticking towards a no deal.....
