If it's an all Ireland customs union with a border in the Irish Sea, I'd love to see how the DUP squirm their way out of that one.

They'd have to take the U out of their name for starters.
This starts the break up of the Union. Plus, it was the only solution. Forget all that 'technology and goodwill' nonsense from the far right crackpots. It would be funny to hear Johnson and his people deal with the technology 'solution', which was laughed out of the negotiation......

We'll see, not convinced, this could be a ruse to avoid blame...

You could tell the way it was going when the Tory message became ‘we’ve agreed to compromise now it’s up to you’ essentially creating a narrative of ‘no deal happened cos the Eu wouldn’t budge’ it’s all about saving their own reputation. It’s gutter politics.
Don't worry a few months of chaos on both sides and the EU will be around the table in a shot especially if the 89 euro billion is on hold.......

If this comes off, with the GFA protected and an open border on Ireland, then I assume, a 2 year transition period, a'la the WA, I am absolutely fine with it.

And if Corbyn mobilises his party to oppose it for party reasons, (assuming their isnt some hidden trap in the deal), given the sheer desire to see the back of this in the country, he will be a laughing stock.
The difficulty I see, as always, is Johnson being able to sell it to the Tory party. I don't think the ERG and other "No Deal is our best option" believers will be going for it. They were already making noises last week about not being completely happy with Johnson's initial plan and making veiled threats about not supporting any further changes or retreat as I think they like to think of it.

Indeed. The agenda that some suggest, as in Johnson and his cohorts want a No Deal at any cost to the rest of us, would support that suggestion. I think it isnt a million miles away being true if I am honest. I hope I am wrong.

It would be nice to think there is an end in sight, but I think it will just continue to drag on. Every politician I hear seems to go on about the need for compromise when what they really mean is that everyone else should compromise except them. If Johnson has managed to get some meaningful dialogue going, then fair play to him and maybe the situation isn't as bleak as I believe it is.

There is no doubt in my mind at all that Johnson wants a no deal outcome. The issue with that is that the Benn Act (almost certainly) stops that, so Plan B for him is to save his own neck by getting a deal over the line. Johnson cares about Johnson, no one else.

He's challenging the DUP and the ERG to take a Brexit as opposed to the Brexit they wanted.

In essence, it's May's Withdrawal Agreement all over again, but with the added impetus of a ticking clock on the Brexiteers, who really are now risking no Brexit at all.

Yes still want to leave OK

Thanks. I'm just saying it's clear everyone knows more now than they did 3.5 years ago. I'm not saying Leavers didnt know ehat they voted for but everyone can agree we all know more now. For that reason I support a 2nd referendum and cant understand why anyone that believes in democracy wouldnt.

If the EU use the Benn act its the HOC fault even if we did leave soon afterwards a trade deal would be done it's just a Charade to save a dwindling opposition party..... Corbyn we want a GE this am a front bencher we want another referendum... they are all over the place 4 million Labour voters voted out......
I repeat 4 million Labour voters voted Brexit......

5 million Tories voted to Remain. What's the issue?

Indeed, also DUP. Factor in Johnson as of yet is never on his brief so may take some time to reflect on what he has may agreed, and going back to named party and grouping, love to be fly on wall for that. Also the most pertinent, he is known for the porkies.
