So if it’s watertight, why doesn’t he call a vote of no confidence ?.....

Because parliament dissolves if an election is called, meaning parliamentary business could not happen. So, for example, if he decided to break the law and not send the request by 19 October, yes he could be put before the courts and possibly jailed for contempt, but parliament would not be sitting so they wouldn't be able to do what I said - take control of proceedings. And to be honest, he'd relish the opportunity to break the law and paint himself 'against the establishment' - as long as he gets no deal and he and his mates can start the race to the bottom, that's all that matters to him.

Pete, he can't do it. And he also won't call a vote of confidence in fear of, er, winning it, or losing it, not sure how to phrase it lol

He needs an EU27 state to veto, but currently everyone is so fearful of an inevitable worldwide recession, no one will.

Does another A50 extension help anyone? No, of course not.

Of course it does, it stops a no deal Brexit on 31 October.

I'm confused as to the point you're trying to make.

So it’s not watertight then.....

I don't see how dave. Boris, by achieving a deal, will have turned himself into a national hero. We will have left. What is the Brexit Party for after that. I'm sure Farage et al will continue to say we haven't left but people are so fatigued with the whole thing that they want to get on with their lives. The Brexit Party will be an angry rump.

Well, first off, it wont get passed, so the whole debate is pretty moot, I think.

If he did get one passed through this parliament though: you say that there's no reason for a Brexit Party after a deal is passed and the UK is out; by the same token: what reason is there for voting for Johnson and his chaos after acheiveing one? Why would LP voters he needs to get onside then vote for him (the only way of getting a majority for the Tories) when they'd only consider backing him to end the impasse on Brexit?

Also, if he got a Brexit deal passed on May's terms, the Tories would be still struggling to contain the damage from a party like Farage's (and Farage is THE most effective politician of his day) and their complaints about still being effectiveley tied to the EU for years and years (probably indefinitely). I wouldn't ignore what happened in the Euro elections a few months back. Even if the Brexit party had half the impact they had then they'd crater the Tories in many of their own safe constituencies. Farage doesn't care about the Tories and their objectives, he cares about Farage and his.
