The electorate voted 'LEAVE'. The options set by the government of the day was 'Leave' or 'Remain'. The electorate vote leave. The House of Commons then voted by a large majority to invoke Article 50. At the subsequent General Election, the two main parties campaigned on manifesto's that declared that the referendum result would be honoured. This represented about 80% of the GE vote. I think trying to overturn all that can be classed as undemocratic. As a final point, I would just add that : MP's are the servants of the people, people are not the servants of MP's.

Again, if you can find any evidence for people in authority saying that a vote for leave is a vote for a no deal Brexit before the referendum, then I will start to be on your side that democracy has been subverted.

To add some colour to the above, here is an article from the independent about it:

Revisionism at its finest.
The vote was to leave with a clean break. If then the EU wished to strike a deal then fine. If the EU didn't wish to strike a deal then also fine.
The 'conditions' about the deal came later from ardent remainers who wish to overturn Brexit completely and totally reverse the result of the referendum.
Regardless if you or anyone lease voted remain or leave, democracy in this country has been ridden over roughshod and systematically dismantled.
The consequences of this will be seen for decades to come.

Indeed. A political party changing leader internally at a time selected to prevent that leader undergoing any democratc scrutiny from the House for a month. That leader then suspending the House after just 5 days sitting for over a month again, hence avoiding any scrutiny in the chamber and also noticeably from the liaison committees trying to hold him to account as part of our normal democratic process. Throwing a majority away and then seeking to bully the House into an election to gain another one. Making threats to simply ignore laws passed by the elected legislature if they're too inconvenient. In fact, it seems for the last few months the Tories have viewed our democracy as too inconvenient for them at every juncture...

These are all dangerous manoeuvres and you're right to point out we should be thinking hard on them, as they could easily be early death knells for democracy in this country - a dictatorial executive that has decided that it is not accountable to our democratically elected representatives or even the laws they pass. A country with a leader behaving like that is only sliding one way.

So I'm in full solidarity with you that we need to support Parliament standing up to these abhorrent practices.

The abhorrent practices of Parliament is to reverse the result of the referendum and overturn democracy.
MP's are elected to serve the people. They have fundamentally failed to do this and wrapped it up in a 'you
don't know what you voted for, so we will not let you do it' excuse.
Parliament ceded power to the electorate when they voted to have the referendum. They didn't expect or like
the result and have pulled every trick and stroke in the book to stop it. It is a disgrace and they should hang their
pathetic, sorry heads in absolute shame. However, they do the exact opposite and try to take the moral high ground
and effectively claim they are saving us from ourselves. Their behaviour is totally contemptible.

Why do all these Brexiter loons come in with the exact same noise, week after week? They get comprehensively rebutted or called out as spouting utter nonsense, and then a few days later another one comes in with the exact same tripe pulled from the pages of the Mail. This one here is essentially endorsing the rise of an autocratic state and has the absolute gall to complain about people overturning democracy. Absolute state of the utter numpty.

They secretly wish they were living in 1930s Germany

Think thats a bit harsh. My narrative, fwiw, is that many were totally played by forces who stood, or stand, who knows, from the UK leaving the EU. Merican pharmas with an eye on the NHS, Putin bots wanting a weaker EU, speculators in the Farage/Banks mold.

They have used the combined power of the dog whistle and some long standing critics of the EU to sell a fantasy that enough believed. Lob in a dose of Take back Control and Rule Britannia, slam dunk.

To me, as a mild mannered delivery driver who happily admitted he voted Remain cos I didnt have a clue what Leave actually meant, it has slowly become crystal clear. That maybe me assuaging my own opinion and winning the internet, dunno.

But either way, if leavers still cannot see they have been sold a pup and used I cant help them.
