In fact, about 17.

The DUP won’t have as much an influence in the new parliament.

They will definitely lose one seat in South Belfast to the SDLP........it will be a photo finish in North Belfast between them and Sinn Fein and I fancy SF.....and Naomi Long is quite capable of causing an upset and win for Alliance in East Belfast.

Add to that Eastwood is nailed on to take Derry from Sinn Fein for SDLP.....and SDLP are well placed to oust Sinn Fein in South Down.

So Northern Ireland will not be so badly under represented this time round.....and that will be to the Tory’s disadvantage.
Yep.
Would be nice to see a few MPs actually take their seats and do their job

I've backed it from the outset Bruce and have probably been the only person on here to do so. But how can anybody possibly call it a good deal yet when we don't know what the future relationship will look like?

I'm actually surprised by your post as the political declaration specifically calls for an end to freedom of movement.

Oh I don't think leaving is a good deal for Britain at all, so don't think anything that takes us in that direction is good for us, but there are degrees of badness, and at least attempting to have an orderly transition is infinitely better than taking our toys and skulking off.

If the Tories get in with a majority, or a combined majority with Brexit, can they just not pass a new bill overriding it.? Or am I missing something. All laws can be changed can't they, provided there's a majority for it?
But that is Bruce's point, it is highly doubtful they will have the majority afterwards. Will the DUP sign up for another coalition championing a no deal? Not likely. They will lose the Tory seats in Scotland due to Boris being in charge and no RD as the head of the party north of the border. To be 36 down already with a decisive leader wanting a hard brexit isn't going to get the numbers.

You may argue the polls are flimsy, but when taking in aggregate, none of them suggest any party, much less the Tories will have any kind of majority, and that's before they've jettisoned so many MPs who will have had a local following, and blown up their chances in Scotland. It's almost certain to be a hung parliament, which would make any attempt to bulldoze things through next to impossible.

My only issue with that is why describe them as football hooligans?

Because it's easier to just stereotype. Like people calling every person who voted leave thick or racist. I'm aware, it's generally a small minority who do that, but they're always the ones who shout the loudest. Just like those divs who are in the vid and the ones who scream about Tommy Robinson (and on the left, those Antifa nutters).

It'll be interesting to hear anymore polling tonight (if there are any). That's a boost to Johnson after that week, but then he's not had to crash through the end of October yet having not fulfilled his promise to leave by then.

It's clear the public want a clear message on Brexit either way. I dont think Labour offering another referendum is going to impress its own supporters who want to leave and so they'll have to hammer away at non-Brexit issues.

The other thing could be that the Johnson believes he can do without Farage, and so resists a pact. Farage, though, will start parking his tanks on Tory lawns at the first sign of weakness and the Tory vote will be pruned considerably.

That polling data suggests that those Labour supporters who want to leave are shifting to the Tories anyway. With remain supporters moving to the Lib Dems Labour run the risk of being left holding the baby.
