Kin ell, I'm listening to that Jess Phillips in that debate tonight. She is as daft as a 'kin brush. Shocking to me how someone like her can become an MP. Freely admitting she has no idea about how the chamber she spends all her time in works and gets paid £80K p.a. for it. Utterly thick.
To be fair to her and this is me as a total outsider looking in ,she is not on her own in that regard.

I think this whole thing has been orchestrated to sabotage Brexit, and that includes conservatives including Johnson

let us go through the sequence of events;

Johnson goes in all guns blazing, the farce of the prorogue, designed to purposefully inflame remainers, the smoke screen of the court cases - (interesting how they fail when parliament itself has done what was needed), rees-mogg lounging in the HOC, throwing out the 'rebels', the 'do or die' pledge, which meant if he was unable to leave (i.e. seek an extension), he has the escape route of resignation on grounds of principle, thereby handing the keys to Corbyn to enact a 2nd ref, revoke a50, whichever is easier.

a series of cock-ups? - i don't think so. more along the lines of a stitch up to resolve the brexit question in remain's favour, which was the objective from the outset, and only the 'wrong' initial result threw that awry. the only leavers are the brexit party and ukip and they operate on the very fringes.
Out of interest, who would be the political mastermind behind this?

You have arch Brexiteers Mogg and Johnston as active participants in this and I’m curious as to who you think is the conductor?

I've a feeling the Leave side would love to turn the clock back about six months.

I honestly have faith in the UK public to see through this Tory mob in the coming weeks. But then I think of Trump and get a bid edgy!

. But then I think of Trump and get a bid edgy!

Wish I could share your optimism. The British public look like victims of Stockholm Syndrome with the Tories being their captors. It also doesn´t help my confidence either that the BBC seem to find so many Johnson supporters when they interview the general public.

That labour policy of going to Brussels to negotiate a deal, then coming back and campaigning for voters to reject it, cannot be for real. Surely not....

I know it's strange times, but come on lol

No, its not for real. The policy is that the Labour Government would go to Brussels, negotiate a deal, and then people would be free to back either side in the referendum that would follow.

It is about a million times more sensible than having a referendum, then the negotiation was.

You can't have only a certain deal and remain as options. Lots would prefer a different brexit. Leave or remain was clearly the right question.

You also can't negotiate anything sensible when the other party know you are going to tell your voters to reject it.

It's probably the daftest policy I've ever heard.

Sounds odd at first...but.

The more I think of it the more I like it.

Labour go to Brussels agree a deal with the EU.

There is absolutely no deal anyone can agree with the EU that will be better than the deal we have now.... i.e. membership of the European Union.

If anyone doesn’t realise that by now they ain’t been paying attention this past three years.

Labour then put it to the country in a Referendum.

“This is the best deal we could negotiate.......we know it is worse than staying in.

Ergo we are advising against it.

But it is your choice......either accept the deal or remain.

We think it is better to stay in”.

And that is what should have happened in t’ first place......in the first Referendum the cart was put before the horse.

The choice should have been between a clearly defined version of Brexit and Remain.

Well done Labour for a bit of blue sky thinking :).

.
