Answer the question instead of belittling.

Which option sounds like the racist option?

Let me give you a hint as to why your question deserves belittling.

You think remainers are racists because they did not want changes that would also impact the freedom of movement of European citizens.

Have a read of that back. It is an astounding leap to suggest that remainers do not want people based on their ethnicity. Absolutely astounding.

First off answer the question. It’s a simple binomial - which option, prima facie, sounds racist to you?

Remainers want, amongst other things,
freedom of movement from other EU nation states, is that correct? Can you tell me the racial demographic of these nation states (collectively)?

Can you tell me the racial demographic of the world?

If it’s agreed that the uk&ni need migration limits due to population density, can you explain to me why unlimited migration from the Eu is not the one which puts more stipulations on non-Caucasians?

Clearly I’m dumb, enlighten and educate me.

But first, answer the question.

Ta.

For whomever the latest pop-up Brexiter is, answer me this. Which of these scenarios is most likely?

Scenario 1 - Enamoured by the tremendous social and economic benefits of migration, Britain adopts an open border policy
Scenario 2 - Enamoured by the tremendous social and economic benefits of migration, Britain adopts an open border policy within the European Union
Scenario 3 - Enamoured by the tremendous social and economic benefits of migration, Britain adopts a 'managed' migration policy whereby all citizens (except British ones obviously) are discriminated against equally.

Now, remember that the leave campaign and the subsequent May government said repeatedly that migration would be drastically cut upon leaving the EU, which of these three is most likely? Do bare in mind when answering that the only truly non-racist policy is the first one before you get on your high horse.

Hang on.

People who vote remain want to have unrestricted migration from a predominantly Caucasian 700m people, putting heavy restrictions on the migration of the remaining 6.3 bln predominantly non-Caucasian people of the world.

People who vote to leave want the 7bln predominantly non-Caucasian people to be treated on their own merits rather than the luck of what continent they were born in.

Which one sounds racist to you?

This has to be the most absurd post I've read in this thread, and that takes some doing.
Why is it absurd? It's effectively true.

Whether or not you believe in free movement of people within the EU, it's undeniable that, because there is unrestricted movement in that domain, it has meant that successive governments have put harsher restrictions on the number of people coming in from outside the EU. Plus the posters comments on the demographics of the EU and that of non-EU countries is also pretty much accurate.

It doesn't lead on from there that people who voted Remain are on the whole racists. But you made a post that effectively declared that all racists voted leave, which is utterly ridiculous.

I honestly thought May's deal was... okay. I said it at the time. I didn't get the hate for it.

But I don't think you can keep putting the responsibility back on the voters. We've had our say, now. Unless there's another vote.

The problem with May's deal is that we didn't know what the outcome would look like, that was just a withdrawal agreement.

In simple terms there is no appropriate solution to the Irish border issue that is acceptable to the UK/EU. Split down the Irish sea you may as well have an independent NI or a unified Ireland. If you did and they remained part of the UK, Scotland would be leaving the UK to have access as per NI which will create a hard border on this island. Still yet to see a leaver take it seriously that that will happen as sure as eggs are eggs.

So all this we are the x biggest economy in the world stuff is nonsense, for start it will shrink when leaving with a no deal and then whatever Scotland and NI add will disappear too.

You're bang on, mate. Let's open up our borders to the world.

That's obviously what Farage was advocating to be fair to him. Look at him, the lovely little non-racist man.

Actually seeing as Britain is a multicultural country, scenario 3 is xenophobic, not racist. And yes there is a difference. Also the tone of your third option is amazing, ‘discriminated against’. You mean ‘judged on equal merits’ obviously.

It’s difficult to say, I’d probably say option 3. Though I think option 2 is possible if there’s a deal made (as part of the deal).

Option one isn’t probable because of fears over population density.

And yes, I understand we need net migration in order to have growing gdp under augmented Keynesian economic modelling (which is what I believe the BoE uses). I’m all for net migration.

Bruce.

We've had this conversation before, but based on your personal interpretation of racism, every single country on the planet, including EU countries and indeed the EU itself, is racist.

As you know, my preference is for option 3 as I believe it is the fairest system to employ as immigration would be based on what you can do rather than where you are from.

Having said that, given the situation the country is in now I would gladly accept membership of the Single market if it brings this nightmare to a close an helps rebuild the country going forward.

Cool. I must've been burying my head when all of the remainers said they wanted Britain to close its doors to all non-EU countries.

But de facto you are subjecting yourself to the possibility (however slim) that this could happen.

If the uk sets migration limits at 100k people net, and 300k Eu citizens move... you can’t really keep doors open to non-EU countries, can you?
