How can people not see the difference between a brexit deal or just crashing out without one. Are people that obsessed with Brexit that they are prepared to accept no deal?

Sadly, yes.

It is like the friend who has always stuck up for their idiot partner, despite everyone pointing out how much of a bell they are, then hanging on in there after numerous infidelities because they can't lose face.

Tonight and tomorrow will give Boris the perfect excuse. He wanted and promised to leave on Oct 31st, this shower of self serving mp’s stitched him up and made it be delayed. He will walk any election......and have a clearout of deadwood.....

"deadwood"

Indeed, but in a GE people will point out that he actually cut the number of cops in London (and sold off numerous stations, including the training facility that he now needs to train those cops he wants to recruit), that Labour proposed recruiting those cops in 2017, that his partys government (Gove and Cummings) brought in Free Schools and wasted billions that could have gone on teachers and repairing schools etc.

Getting in to a "who will spend the most on infrastructure" argument with Labour is not a battle he is likely to win.

The only problem with that is that the people need to be able to understand simple concepts and truth over lies.

In this situation walking away is a bad thing. I'd say in negotiations having done proper analysis of the situation and being aware what you can gain and lose is much more important. But, hey, you'd rather it be 'I can walk away and leave myself screwed'

In this case it’s I can walk away and we are all screwed.......

Yes. They maybe, maybe, lean a little bit to the left, on occasion, but generally, yes. You compare them to Fox or CNN, for example.

Let me guess, I don't know your leanings but if you're left, you'll say the Beeb are right. And if you're right, you'll say they're left.

It's like footy fans, saying a referee is always against their team.

Sorry mate thats bull, you only have to dig a bit to understand. I follow this woman who is a fantastic award winning journalist, pretty much helped break the cambridge analytica story (if you have seen it or Netflix the great hack). She has been onto the BBC for ages.

But for some people it will. If Britain gets poorer and loses jobs, people lose livelihoods, and it leads to people leaving miserable lives and living longer. This isn't just some ideological battle for many of us, it is being faced with real issues that will seriously damage huge areas of the country and many people. This is reality. You may disagree how it will affect things, but for those of us who think it has a negative impact, it's serious.

I don't live my life worrying about things that I can't control anymore. I used to, and I wasn't happy. Apart from Everton, the badd tosspots. I worry about them and I have no bloody control!

I'm not at all suggesting you do the same. You have to care, I get that. I'm just sick of it. I understand people think differently though and quite rightly.

This thread just shows that the vast majority on here have never negotiated a deal in their lives, or if they have then they had their trousers pulled down.......rule number 1, be prepared to walk away.......

I normally assess if the deal is at all achievable, and more importantly deal with only fact rather than emotion, it's known as pragmatism.

Now that we are much more informed about the consequences, why not have a second referendum?

The will of the people right now is surely more important than the will of the people in 2016.

To note - I think referendums are terrible.

We aren’t more informed, that’s an opinion only.

We don’t have a clue what the communist dictator of Europe Ursula von der Leyen has planned.

Only valid second referendum, would be when we fully leave on a clean break and it would be WTO and future trade agreements.

One one side of the ballot box.

Against federal soviet Europe that includes joining the Euro adopting and commuting to future European army.

As that’s exactly what the real diehard remainers want. Anything else is pure fantasy.

But you can find equally as many examples of left-wing people on the BBC shouting down and screaming at a leave voter and calling them idiots.

If you're on one particluar side, you see bias towards the other side. It's human nature.

Been more familiar with US local elections than UK ones for many years but even in the UK system isn’t it quite difficult to find 21 decent replacement candidates in a matter of days? And won’t they be facing the previous incumbents who presumably won election multiple times so might have their own base of individual (rather than party) support? How “safe” were those 21 seats?

The World isnt black and white.

Thinking so is dangerous.

I have seen nothing that would refute my opinion. Power is more important than wealth, of course, if you're lucky you will have both (either inherited e.g. JRM or immorally claimed at the expense of the public e.g. David Lammy) and the best way to achieve that is through politics.

Why ?, Boris can actually start spending the money as well as making promises, Corbyn can only make the same promises......

Nope - the 20000 cops will need to be selected first, as will the teachers, bids will need to be made for the hospital upgrades etc. None of that will be done before a GE (in fact because of purdah rules, none of it can even be announced).
