It's all part of the plan. Boris has done this just to try and reach out to the 17 million or so minus the amount have gone to saga holidays in the sky. Don't know what he would get out of having an actual majority to be honest as they will lose no deal now.

Boris doesn’t want no deal, he wants a larger majority and wants his remoaners out of the party.......

The EU again, for the umpteenth time, are laughing their arses off at us tonight.

Massively.

I don't expect them to concede much. They have no obligation to.

But what are we actually achieving here? Just going with a weaker hand, begging?

We decided to leave as a majority. I get not everybody wants to leave and I have more than enough reservations myself. But as a country, the majoirty voted out.

We can't be leaving with no deal but removing it as an option all together at this stage merely weakens the resolve.

I deep down do not believe BJ sees no deal as an option he wants to use. But he wants an option there in case. The EU don't want a no deal. If we leave with a no deal and there's no immediate repercussions other than the pound dropping, I can't see the likes of Italy - who are already in a recession anwyway - staying much longer. They'd have nothing to lose.

The referendum was a rare act of direct democracy. The electorate’s will is to leave. Our parliament has been bypassed in this decision, just like our decision to stay in the common market in the 70’s was direct democracy.

I don’t personally believe that we should have referendum’s at all.

Some remainers and some brexiter’s will not agree with me.

I think referendums will always cause division. But we’ve had one, so we must now leave at all costs, anything less is to undermine the will of the people.

Now that we are much more informed about the consequences, why not have a second referendum?

The will of the people right now is surely more important than the will of the people in 2016.

To note - I think referendums are terrible.

The Tory's wouldn't win either, that's the point. Not if Brexit hasn't been resolved.

Labour's strategy has to be largest party in a coalition government post election...which is what the Tory's strategy is.

The polling atm is not favourable anyway for the Tories to be confident of a majority...Labour can easily and quickly close that gap and then some...which I expect them to do when bread and butter issues get discussed over 6 weeks.

Right, so we're left with what we have now? No majority government. So it doesn't get us anywhere?

Labour are going to lose seats to the Brexit Party.....

Thing is, Corbyn doesn't want to remain. In his ideal world, he'd want out.

He's bent to the will of the party.

I hate the Tories. I hate Johnson.

But I want Brexit over with. We had a referendum. If we don't uphold the vote then we might as well stop counting any votes at all because what's the point?
Oh 100%, Corbyn has been anti-europe all his political career, he's tried to back the best way he can to get into power, the essence of a self serving MP.

First Election in my lifetime I want the Tory's to win, that's what Corbyn has done to the Labour voter.

Because if we have a second, then why not have a third, and if we have a third , why not a fourth? When does it end? Where's the arbituary line?

He clears the decks. In the same way that you called for a purging of the LP, Boris will now remove the whip from all the pro-EU fanatics and have an election.....As predicted, Corbyn bottled having one tonight......so I expect Boris will use some arcane procedure to make it happen.......
Clear the decks on the eve of an election. Yes, I advise him to do that...and face a series of independents fighting those seats they've been deselected from (or at best for the Tories have new candidates who no one has a 'kin clue about trying to persuade constituents they should hand them their votes).

Nice one Boris.

Important for Labour to make sure they have Johnson tied down to a pre-31st October election with no favourable outcome for them as the Brexit Party will still be in play as a real alternative to the Tories.
wouldnt be suprised if brexit party(farage) do a deal now.
Labour will get painted as danger that makes project fear look tame.
Plus now they have to convince a load of leave voters in the north they give a toss about there views on brexit, thats not going to be easy once the press gets going
Then the urban seats will have the lib factor to deal with.
Can only do my bit and vote for them but i fear its a tory win and majority.
Only thing could stop.it if some of the tories lashed out keep there seats.

I agree, bar the Tory bit really. I don't want them to win really. I just want us to have this mess over with, one way or the other. All tonight does is make it go on longer and weaken what is already one of the weakest hands in history, which is a direct result of our useless MPs fighting for three years and coming up with f all.

It's disgusting.
