I'd guess that most remainers have come to terms with leaving and most brexiteers don't want a hard brexit. We're probably all on the same page, so why is all of this bollocks happening?

Because, in my humble opinion, an awful lot of folk who voted Leave did so after believing the tripe served up by those that all along wanted a hard brexit.

And a quick search on the internet will show plenty of examples of folk still spouting such nonsense.

But we all read a leaflet.

Hard to know what Johnson thinks. He should have put his deal (May's with tweaks) to MPs asap after he got the job. Or have a proper extension (common sense approach) so he could properly negotiate his own deal. He's backed himself into a corner. I get having 'no deal' on the table but leaving it this late just scares the crap put of people, so what did he expect to happen?

I don't want a second referendum as I don't believe it will solve anything. All that will happen is you set a precedent for future ones. Where will it stop. That's just my opinion of course and I accept that every person who wants to remain will disagree with me.

But the problem we have at the moment is that we have a parliament who can not agree on anything, including a new referendum. So all that will happen until the demographics of parliament is changed is that Brexit will keep on being kicked further down the road, and all the uncertainty that goes with it is what is really killing this country. The only way to change that is through a GE, although I accept, and indeed actually acknowledged in the post you responded to, that a majority for either side is far from guaranteed.

What would you see happening in the event of another hung parliament, Barney?

Two of the last three have ended up that way and I think it is going to be a regular occurrence going forward..

At the risk of being attacked (again), I will state this to you. The £350 million per week (gross) was an equivalent figure of the cost of a hospital. Neither campaign in the Referendum had any executive authority to allocate ANY finances anywhere. So your contention above is wrong.

Got it?
How does that stop it being a lie?

The only way out of this is a GE and even that isn't a foregone conclusion that any side will come out of it with a majority.

Within the next 6 months I reckon there are 4 possible scenarios.

We leave with a deal.

We leave with no deal

We revoke article 50 and remain

We're still pushing Brexit down the road by extending the deadline dates.

In my opinion, only leaving with a deal is an option that allows the country to move on and hopefully start to mend. The other 3 involve a country totally divided and full of uncertainty. If I was a betting man I would say leaving with a deal is by far the least likely to happen, which means there's probably an 80/90% chance that we're in for a very bumpy road for the foreseeable future. Scary.
I think it would be better none of the parties can hide behind we respect the wishes of the referendum while doing everything to hinder it a long the way that goes for individual MPs as well if they have a particular stance let's see how the local voters react to it be it stay or remain .
another referendum never personally been against it but if the result went the other way why would this one hold away over the other one or indeed the next one.
leave it to the parties to sort out we are already had enough bad blood between the two sides never mind pouring petrol on the situation .
GE or me Tory and brexit v the rest
saying that I would end up voting on the remain side because I will vote Labour but sooner that than Boris even if the cost for now is brexit.

An Election could leave us in more or less the same position we are now.

IMO we ned a new Referendum.

There is no excuse for anyone not knowing what they are voting for this time.....so it was NO again then this particular Remainer would stop taking to the internet to complain about it.

If head of the remain party, Jo Swinson says she wouldn't accept the referendum result if leave won again, why would anyone who lost.

There will not be another referendum, that time has passed.

Again, agreed. Said as much ages ago. And as for every remainer wanting a 2nd vote, not me. Cant see what it would solve. The damage is done.

I get bored saying it, but it is still true. I voted to stay cos I didnt know what I was voting for. Apparently everyone who voted to leave did though. Sorry, but I beg to differ.
As I said to Bruce I can only speak for myself, although I have found that most other leave voters I have discussed it with have been intelligent, well educated, and dare I say, experienced in life's trials. Old gits like me in other words.

I gave it a lot of thought before the vote and made my own list of pros and cons and actually went to the ballot box still undecided. It was that close a decision for me.

As I said, nothing I have learned since has led me to the opinion that I made the wrong decision. But I do regret the way things have turned out.

....surprised more isn’t being made of the evidence uncovered in today’s hearing in Scotland which clearly shows Johnson planning to pirogue Parliament just after he came into office.

The QC very damming of the apparent ‘lies’.
