@Joey66 he is threatening to turn you into a chair here, don't stand for it

Just for clarification, this is John Cleese playing a character saying that he had been turned into a newt by a lady he thought was a witch. The witch did not turn Joey, Donald Trump or anyone else into a newt, or a chair. Thankfully John Cleese's character recovered from his episode, as I'm sure we all hope Joey does from his ordeal this afternoon.

I can take most things Bruce but with PTSD I hate being ridiculed thanks for a half hearted apology...I am staying off this thread again for a while ok........I have let Dan know whats happens in a constructive way......
Should have gone with 24 hours
I give it an hour before you're crying about being bullied and claiming that you are done with the thread.

Boris will have a GE and win a decent majority, that’s what all this is about......
he might be able to form a government but it wont be a single party government.
And even if it is, half that party hate him.
And even if they dont, his policy of shutting down parliament to get what he wants will hardly instill confidence in future trading partners.

what are the assets? A genuine question.
Are there EU oil reserves, military equipment, art, gold?
Maybe governmental buildings?
While I'm not exactly sure, they have assets such as Property, loans/lending (which the UK could argue that if borrowing consitutues a liability which should be apportioned to the UK in the event of Brexit, then EU loans could be considered assets and used to offset the divorce bill), cash held by treasury and European bank etc.

as long as posters know what they are then its fine by me .......

Apparently if you are a leave voter then you are fair game, especially if you use words like democracy, you lost, lizard overlords, remoaners, binary choice referendum, majority won, anti-establishment, project fear, facts. By golly it's practically a feeding frenzy when those words are bandied about, whichever remain poster is lucky enough to be logged on at the time a post is made supporting the leave vote gets to win the prize below.

If you are a remain voter then you can really rack up the likes by spouting the mantra such as the EU are a benevolent lot, advisory only referendum, leave voters are dumb/stupid, lied to, gammons, DM readers, the 48%, unconstitutional, but my personal favourite...... <some drivel about respecting the result> BUT <then more drivel about not respecting the result>

I think that about covers it, can't wait for the responses to this and the 'like' button getting mashed so often for those posts it brings the server down - sort of like a prorogue of the forum.

;)

When we have to negotiate a deal with the EU, we will do so knowing the exact content detail of all other trade deals agreed or currently in discussion with the EU. We will know our strengths and weaknesses in comparison to the likes of Canada and Japan and will know what can be offered, even before we add in the fact that we will be the EU’s largest trading partner. I’m not particularly worried about negotiating a deal....

We already know that though and we have failed to exert that leverage so far. Id say it was highly optimistic to feel we will be in a better position to do this once we are out of the EU and have enormous issues logistically mounting.

In fairness I think you guys up north will be shielded from some of the worst aspects, but I think where I live the majority of major roads will be out of service. Panic will spread quickly.

Splitting hairs - it may be encouraging to break the law - why not say peaceful demonstrations?
being disobedient ain't the answer.......
you got the cane for it when I was at school......

Civil unrest is not against the law though Joe. And in fairness Farage said people would take up rifles if he didn't get what he wants (which obviously is against the law!)

You never know, but this shutting down Parliament, (cant spell the proper word), might focus the EU minds to the looming reality that sommet needs to give.

Civil unrest is not against the law though Joe.

That depends (some webpage)....
'Civil unrest is typically defined by law enforcement as a gathering of three or more people, in reaction to an event, with the intention of causing a public disturbance in violation of the law.'

Collins dictionary
Civil unrest is fighting between different groups of people

Doesn't sound that its particularly lawful, but I will await several rebuttal posts shortly pointing out the error of my googling
