Well I'm not sure EU officials have used the language of 'punishing' Britain for a start
Oh they have, if you dont have time to google it yourself I am more than willing when I have the time to help you out.

The ESA isn't an EU organisation. They have ejected us from those space projects because of the way they are funded, the UK said it would continue to fund into tbe European space agency directly , not we are leaving goodbye it was deemed not good enough.
If i had legally left anything i would not expect to continue to pay for a service i no longer used or wanted,
fine pay off what you need to, but only what you owe and expect the other side to pay me for anthing i had paid for up front but no longer had access to from the date of leaving its a two way street.
I know, its funded through a EU mechanium , as we are not a member when we leave we cant fund it that way so offerd to do it directly , offer refused .The ESA isn't an EU organisation.
The UK’s membership of the European Space Agency is not affected by leaving the EU as it is not an EU organisation.I know, its funded through a EU mechanium , as we are not a member when we leave we cant fund it that way so offerd to do it directly , offer refused .

Other projects - such as Galileo, which are EU funded, we will no longer have access to if we leave with No Deal.
Why so?The Galileo example is a clear demonstration of the spiteful nature of the EU. The more you see and hear of these people the more I wish to have no part of it. The EU can do their worst as far as I’m concerned, we shall enjoy the prosperity gained through internally redeveloping all of the toys they wish to take away. I’ve dealt with very large alliances with European nations and generally they work quite well. I’ve also worked with mega scale developments with the USA and guess what, they work quite well also. So whether we look eastwards or westwards in the future it will not make a damned bit of difference....
I saw a great quote on Twitter earlier on.
“Brexit came about because the people with the strongest opinions about EU membership had the weakest understanding of it”.
It neatly sums up some of the nonsense we see posted about the EU on this thread![]()
I agree, I think that sums up Remainers to a tee.......
So its ok to take are millions of pounds its about 1.5 billion of the 8 billion full cost. The UK’s membership of the European Space Agency is not affected by leaving the EU as it is not an EU organisation.
Other projects - such as Galileo, which are EU funded, we will no longer have access to if we leave with No Deal.
I think the EU stance is they don't want to pick and choose laws and don't want to undermine their fundamental freedoms. I expect the argument would be that the UK is seeking to pick and choose the elements of the EU it wants and not those it doesn't want, but these things are intertwined with other aspects of membership of the EU.So its ok to take are millions of pounds its about 1.5 billion of the 8 billion full cost.
we offer to carry on paying not a penny less , but the EU desides to say as a third country we will have no access to the security details of the project, which we have worked on , making it usless for are armed forces.
It by the way needs two of are atlantic bases to work and will set it back by 2 to 3 years if we decide we to play the same game and cost an extra 1 billion to the project, just because the EU wants to prove a piont about a country leaving there club ,
The eastern EU counties are already saying its a bad stance and the UK has annouced must of its future European space agency funding will be on expanding within the UK.
WIthout going into it anymore the basic thing is the EU want us to honour committments when it suits but shows no fairness when the tables are turned, and it prepared to inflict cost to itself to try and prove a piont rather than just be flexable .
Just seem daft to me cutting there noses off to prove a piont , what will the gain from it?I think the EU stance is they don't want to pick and choose laws and don't want to undermine their fundamental freedoms. I expect the argument would be that the UK is seeking to pick and choose the elements of the EU it wants and not those it doesn't want, but these things are intertwined with other aspects of membership of the EU.
We contributed as a member of the EU and we benefitted as a member of the EU. If we leave with No Deal we cease to be a knee and as such won't benefit.
It shouldn't come as a surprise, we all knew this when we voted for No Deal let's not forget.
Brexit in a nutshell this.Just seem daft to me cutting there noses off to prove a piont , what will the gain from it?
Extra cost, more time, one of europes main miltary forces excluded from its use and more than likely going off in a direction with the USA and co that will make it a side show in the greater sceme of things.
If we leave with no deal , do we become the enermy all of a sudden,no relationship at all?
Its working out that way, but its a complex subject why diffrent people voted to leave, been done to death on here .Brexit in a nutshell this.
Every single projection suggests the UK will be financially worse post Brexit (in any scenario) so why have people voted for it?
