"I wouldn't have a problem with foreigners if I never had to meet any. Bloody EU".

And as its a Saturday bank holiday weekend, fail to see the irony when they discuss what local takeaway or restaurant they will treat themselves to tonight.

"Indian, Italian, or that new Greek place love?"

"Well, Enid and Charles said the new Thai place is fabulous, lets try them eh?"

"Sounds lovely, and we can have a lie in tomorrow because I have asked Tomaz to come in to do the lawn tomorrow"

"Lovely. That means we can enjoy that lovely French wine later"

"Well I will drive, Have you seen the keys for the Audi?"

"Yes dear, they are on the dressing table, next to my Chanel perfume."

Happens so often. Quiz a leave voter as to their reasons and they deflect and avoid before admitting they just don’t like foreigners.

They will have a big shock when leaving makes next to no difference in migration numbers. What they really need is Farage to come up with a time machine so they can all go back to the 1930's.

If that is what the people want then I would not like it but would not argue against it. Its called democracy. I wish others would adopt the same democratic respect for brexit. But one thing at a time.

How about an agreement with EU/Ireland that removes the backstop on condition that within 2 years a binding referendum is conducted in Northern Ireland to determine if they wish to unite with Ireland. If they do, fine. If not, it has given us 2 years to find a border solution.
You know this democracy that you espouse RichardP? How far back do you want to take it, with particular regard to Ireland? How did your democracy work in the 60s when you let gerrymandering proliferate in favour of pro British voters? That was a major cause of the troubles, not sectarian issues like some of the Leave clowns on here have stated. Or the 1918 vote in Ireland where Sinn Fein won a massive victory, which was disregarded by Britain? How can the likes of you trumpet 'democracy' when you are held in contempt by the disenfranchised and under represented in Ireland, not just the bit you cling on to? There are many definitions of democracy @RichardP, and one of the reasons that these tory loons hate the EU is that they are held to account by European Courts. They can't just impose their will on their subjugated people right now. Yes, your democracy and other Democrat's democracy can vary wildly mate. Pathetic....

No, it does not get us out of EU if we are trapped (potentiallypermanently) in the EU Customs Union.

Can anyone explain it any simpler for the hard of thinking amongst us please.
You know the EU is separate to the customs union, right?
You know the referendum wasn’t about the customs union?
Is it just certain immigrants you have a problem with because I presume the Italian, French, Portuguese, Irish, Danish, Nigerian, Ivorian, Brazilian, Colombians playing for Everton are ok?

We will be out of the EU. What you seem to be describing is a form of Brexit that has stipulations and caveats to leaving - which apparently nobody (or everybody depending upon what narrative you are trying to weave) voted for.

It's almost like you're trying to suggest that not everybody voted for the same thing...

Yes but he's British so when he does it he's got a god given right to do it, when other people do it they're scroungers, an infestation, overwhelming us etc

I guess its a mindset. We are all as bad as each other really. The leavers cannot comprehend why remainers think they have swallowed a bucket of lies from a group of folk that have led them down the garden path, and the leavers cant comprehend why we were not taken in by them.

It's a la carte democracy they espouse, where you make it up as you go along depending on what suits at the time. There are good examples of that in your post.

When you point out to leavers that it would be more democratic to agree the terms of withdrawal and then put that to the people for approval, all you get in response is "do you not believe in democracy ? " What they are demanding now is a stark black and white version with no room at all for interpretation simply because it suits their argument. Pathetic as you say.
