It is beyond vindictive that some English people would blame the Irish for a mess which the English created in t’ first place and whom continue to blame if what our oaf of a Prime Minister truly believes the claptrap he spoke in Brussels today.

Its ignorance. I am happy to concede I have not a clue about the nuances nor detailed history of your Island, and it pains me as an Englishman that too many who share my country cannot or will not admit the same.

And what would a pro European leader have done with all those Labour leavers, get on the same fence all be it from the other side... No difference.

Well, it would have been an open goal for a Labour leader whom did not have a long standing hatred if the EU.

He or she might have told those Labour leavers that it was decades of Thatcherism toward the end of last century and a decade of Tory austerity which was the cause of their problems and which caused the damage to their communities ....not the EU.

Instead demagogues, rabble rousers and downright liars like Farage, Johnson and others were allowed to paint the EU as the architect of their woes in the eyes of Labour voters.

And for that I blame our own party.

The civil war over religious beliefs caused the troubles, the EU had nothing to do with that of the GF agreement.....
We are talking about trade not the bad old days ....
Incorrect as per.

It was 50 years of gerrymandered one party rule, the denial of basic civil rights to the nationalist minority, and the brutal repression administered by the forces of the State when that minority marched in protest about their conditions which caused The Troubles. This position was manufactured by the British government when they partitioned Ireland by threat of force in 1922.

As for your other claim, the EU provide the framework within which frictionless trade between the 2 jurisdictions can exist which provides the basis for the all island economy and North-South co-operation enabled by the Good Friday Agreement. If one jurisdiction leaves the EU, the whole structure upon which the peace is dependent will come crashing down.

That's why there is a backstop and that's why it won't be dropped as your new joke of a PM has demanded.

Lets see if 39 billion Euros talks to the EU.........
They only look after themselves... Ireland is just a pawn on a chess board for them ......

We all knew that no-one Inthe UK wanted a return to share boder..

Only an issue raised by the EU to try to sell the Irish down the river to try and stop Brexit hence the big smokescreen they have played...
Boris will sort it out ......
Johnston will do nothing of the sort. The only thing he is interested in now is apportioning blame for what lies ahead.

Who wrote that? Rees Mogg? Farage?

Joe, you are being played like the said pawn. You just cant see it.
Just like 1.4 million who voted out then -yawn......
