Just one example. I had a mortgage that was a millstone round my neck. I opened my newspaper one morning to read that interest rates were 15%. What's your interest rate?
Me too. Got a 15% pay rise that year though.

Wasting your time mate, the scorched earth generation has used up all their resources and pulled the ladder up behind them. I consider myself very lucky that the majority of my own relatives of that era are utterly embarrassed about their peers
)It's very sad as I doubt few of the individuals are the kind of people who would deliberately inflict a bleaker future on strangers let alone younger friends and family, but the tribalism that brexit has brought upon them is seemingly all encompassingIndeed.
I know from previous conversations with @Methuselah that we are both from that over 65 “scorched earth generation” but his attitude stinks to high heaven.
And there are plenty of us do not nor indeed cannot afford to share his smug attitude toward the younger generation.
I have working children in their 30s and 40s still trying to hold down jobs and make ends meet.
I have young grandchildren studying at school and university and I worry about their future.
Meth is the worst kind of Baby Boomer.
The type who were fortunate enough to be born at the absolute best time in the history of England to be young, white and male but refuse to acknowledge that fact.
We grew up with efficient and quick
universal health care free at the point of contact, education for all irrespective of income and class, the smashing of glass ceilings in the employment world, affordable houses to get on the property ladder.
(not to mention the best music ever and the sexual revoloution that accompanied it)
But some of these arl fellows would, as you say, pull the ladder up behind them and let the devil take the hindermost.
The EU are playing silly buggers because they don’t want us to leave. They need our money & the nearer brexit ones the more their buttock are clenching.Yes they did.
- Getting out of the EU can be quick and easy – the UK holds most of the cards in any negotiation.
- John Redwood (17 July 2016)
- To me, Brexit is easy.
- Nigel Farage (20 September 2016)
- The free trade agreement that we will have to do with the European Union should be one of the easiest in human history.
- Liam Fox (20 July 2017)
If a no deal happens, on the first of November will we be allowed to move freely in to France (or any other EU country)? Not to live but just to holiday.

I agree. David Cameron sending a pamphlet to every home in the country (at taxpayer's expense) telling them to vote Conservative would have been electoral fraud.By the rules of the league Liverpool lost.
By the electoral laws of the country, had it been a GE the referendum would've been void because of electoral fraud.

Nope. Try harder.I agree. David Cameron sending a pamphlet to every home in the country (at taxpayer's expense) telling them to vote Conservative would have been electoral fraud.
Didnt see that option on the ballot paper mate.
But you continue to rewrite history if it makes you feel better.
Not like you to not read the post in context.

Joke? Or you think that's true?If they don't allow us, Spain will go bust.
