Ah yes the Pete special a fecking stupid one liner that makes you look like an idiot with nothing to say.

As always trying in vain as always to turn it around. Your specialty is insulting people and making them out to be stupid and ignorant.

How many people disagree with you now? How many of them have you since insulted

You are part of the problem pal. Old school ideology and thoughts especially when it comes to Ireland. You cannot see past your bigot views. But sure it's our problem.

Of course and everyone in the U.K. understands this. But while the ROI can all point the finger of blame at the U.K. and Johnson, if there is a no deal it will be a little bit more than having a laugh at the English and carrying on as before....but maybe you are right......
Oh I never said it would be a laugh and carrying on as before.
We're inextricably linked to the UK so watching you commit economic suicide is a hard pill to swallow especially given how it will impact us.
Your government has made a series of bad decisions, forcing our government in to an unenviable position.
The only difference is that this time the big kids in the yard are on our side because you told them all to f-off.

“People in Northern Ireland will “come to question the union” with Britain if there is a no-deal Brexit, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said.
Mr Varadkar told the MacGill Summer School it would be “provocative” to discuss a potential united Ireland before Brexit, but said that could change if the UK crashes out of the European Union without a deal.
Preparing a white paper on unity or establishing a forum on the future shape of Ireland before Brexit could play into the view that Dublin is exploiting the UK’s withdrawal, he added.
“That obviously could change in the event of a hard Brexit,” he said.
“Those questions will arise whether we like it or not, and we have to be ready for it,” Mr Varadkar said about the future status of Northern Ireland in a potential no-deal scenario.”......
Unity referendum will be imminent following no deal, told you this a long time ago. Try to keep up.

I'm not sure why you're posting this. Is it a criticism?
Seems reasoned and rational to me.
You should probably read up on Fine Gael's history re. Irish unity.

What history do FG have on Irish unity?
There are traditionally two main parties in Ireland. Fianna Fail and Fine Gael. They formed each side of the civil war that happened after partition.
The war of independence was ended by the signing of a treaty that would give 26 counties independence while 6 remained in the UK. FG lead by Michael Collins signed the treaty with the thought that it would stop the war and the 6 counties could be revisited while FF lead by DeValera wanted to fight on till all 32 counties were free.
Collins signed the treaty leading to the civil war.
Both parties are now in a coalition government with FG being the senior partner.
FF would traditionally be seen as the republican/unification party while FG would be seen as the more tempered party.
There's a feeling with FG that if reunification doesnt make sense it wont happen where as FF would push for it at all costs.

Your next to last point is fine. But how many people from Sunderland or Liverpool go to work in Paris, Rome, Berlin, Madrid or Budapest. These things sound great, but have no effect upon 99.99% of our population. Once again it’s for the privileged few.......

Also, why do you believe we should be seen as a ‘big wheel’, we’ve done our bit, I’d be more than happy to have our small island trading and giving a good life to its inhabitants, we did the world policeman bit......
Jesus wept.

It is exactly this type of Nationalist delusion that has fuelled Brexit from inception.

We have more in common with the USA than the EU and as the five eyes proves we put more trust in our English speaking partners. When the chips are down who would support us either militarily or economically, USA, Germany or Spain....let me go further (Canada plus Australia and New Zealand) or ( Romania, Slovenia and Hungary) ?...
Why always resort it to war Pete?

The EU may not be the political union you desire but hardly enemy at the gates.

Paranoid now aswell.

Why is it you try to turn it into us v them? That the Irish are being malicious and only doing what they are doing because they hate England.

Of course people are laughing but not at England but at the shambolic government you have who take a vote without an actual plan.

Ireland and its people do not hate English folk believe it or not. Why you keep insinuating this is beggars belief.

Anyway why would you expect any other result. You government has been through so much crap and still doesn't know what its doing.

It's only response it to repeat the garbage about it being the EU fault and how they are bullies and that Ireland are stupid to follow the EU and will get what they deserve etc ...

Your lot have dug in and instead of doing anything constructive it wants to play the blame game.

If you are so worldly and experienced you wouldn't be so bloody narrow minded. It's why people are starting to call you a troll because you sound ridiculous.
This.

We have our own interests, this isn’t a game of whatabouterry.

I actually agree with that and am unsure why you posted it re your normal pro Brexit stance.

Brexit will inevitably weaken the constitutional position in the UK and it has dominated our politics since the day Cameron played party politics with vote.

NI is generally on fire in July and for Varadkar to make that statement is real leadership in my opinion.

Exaclty.

The thing is what is confusing is if the pro brexit brigade cared about the North or even Irelands interests and really wanted to persuade them to join the leave then why not have done that from the off.

This after the fact nonsense about Ireland being evil and mean and not understanding is juvenile.

If they really cared about the relationship between the two nations and both of their interests it would have been top of the brexit to do list.

Them turning on Ireland and not having a clue about the border to me proves they had no plan. It was a stab in the dark a blindfolded dart throw. Have the people agree that leaving is the best then try figure it out.

Not sure if it's arrogance or stupidity that they thought everyone would roll over for them.

Now they seemingly want to blame everyone but their own poor planning. Including sending attitudes into yester year about the Irish being evil and terrorists etc...

The whole thing is like a 8 year old wanting to get his way and then blaming his sibling then turning it on the parents when they are trying to be rational with him.

You are joking aren’t you ?......

Please, please tell me you realise the utter stupidity of what you are suggesting.

Edit: it really does anger me to see the bigotry behind what you are suggesting be promoted as some sort of noble brothers in arms. The world, thankfully, doesn’t have your mindset but if it did everyone would be much worse off. These countries don’t have our back more just because you like them because they speak English. Many European nations stood in the fight as the Nazis we’re defeated. Even having said taht, it is no way relevant and harkibg back to it is grim.

The Brexit loons basically voted to all turn into The Good Life.
