yea, it's the exact same here in the states. Economically we're doing ok so lots of people seem content to let Trumps behaviour slide but his behaviour has emboldened a whole world of racist bigots to speak their minds. It's eroding society before our eyes.
That's why having Johnson as PM is so dangerous, he's acting as a bull horn for scumbags
The two of them being in power at the same time are a Molotov cocktail primed to explode at any moment.

The US was covertly supplying the UK from the early days of the war, albeit there was a price to everything they supplied, it was not gratis.
Yes remember reading that it wasn't that long ago we finished paying off our debt to the US for WW2 so googled it. Made our final payment of £45.5M on the 31st December 2006. Britain had amassed a debt of £21billon for WW 11. As the old saying goes there's no such thing as a free meal.

Rule Britannia eh Pete?!

Laughable thing is a huge majority of "dem immigrants" have the brains and drive to make something of themselves. It would be an interesting social experiment to map out prospects of Leave families and those that have moved here from other countries.
It’s not surprising at all that lots of working class people have that view when the positive impact of immigration is never publicised.

This is a disgraceful attempt to turn a discussion on countries that support the U.K. into some kind of racist comment....,you ought to be ashamed....

Please, please tell me you realise the utter stupidity of what you are suggesting.

Edit: it really does anger me to see the bigotry behind what you are suggesting be promoted as some sort of noble brothers in arms. The world, thankfully, doesn’t have your mindset but if it did everyone would be much worse off. These countries don’t have our back more just because you like them because they speak English. Many European nations stood in the fight as the Nazis we’re defeated. Even having said taht, it is no way relevant and harkibg back to it is grim.

And you my friend no little of your history.....

I actually agree with that and am unsure why you posted it re your normal pro Brexit stance.

Brexit will inevitably weaken the constitutional position in the UK and it has dominated our politics since the day Cameron played party politics with vote.

NI is generally on fire in July and for Varadkar to make that statement is real leadership in my opinion.

I do not believe it is leadership, I think it is a public declaration of what I have stated previously, his whole politics has been about a United ireland.......

I'm not sure why you're posting this. Is it a criticism?
Seems reasoned and rational to me.
You should probably read up on Fine Gael's history re. Irish unity.

I posted it because when I have previously stated that this is what he wanted to do I had all the usual Irish suspects denying it......

Oh I never said it would be a laugh and carrying on as before.
We're inextricably linked to the UK so watching you commit economic suicide is a hard pill to swallow especially given how it will impact us.
Your government has made a series of bad decisions, forcing our government in to an unenviable position.
The only difference is that this time the big kids in the yard are on our side because you told them all to f-off.

And I hope the big kids help you out....

Ah yes the Pete special a fecking stupid one liner that makes you look like an idiot with nothing to say.

As always trying in vain as always to turn it around. Your specialty is insulting people and making them out to be stupid and ignorant.

How many people disagree with you now? How many of them have you since insulted

You are part of the problem pal. Old school ideology and thoughts especially when it comes to Ireland. You cannot see past your bigot views. But sure it's our problem.

I don’t care how many people disagree with me. The vote above says 2:1 for remain, even though leave won, nearly 300 people voted to leave in here, and they can’t be arsed even arguing with you, because you don’t debate, you gang up, do not read what is put forward, but just attack the man. Joey doesn’t bother anymore so bravo, you’ve killed debate. You may find that I don’t give a crap about your little gang.....

Not exactly "asking for better terms", I was thinking more about how we could hope to get better terms from whoever we seek deals with in the Brexit future when not part of a large bloc compared with the terms we have got already or would benefit from in the future if we were staying in. I agree that countries all around the world will seek deals with the UK and over a very long period of time deals will be agreed. I just think they are likely to less favourable terms than we have now as a member of the EU and if they are less favourable the UK will be worse off commercially as a result! If we are worse off commercially going forward that will reduce the chances of enacting social and economic change that would be to the advantage of parts of the U.K. and the people living and working in the UK who are struggling a lot.
I am a bit surprised that you think the USA might try to put one over on us. I do actually think they certainly will try and will probably succeed given the significant disparity in economic power between the two countries. I think dollars will speak louder than the Special Relationship at that point. Thanks for your answers. Bonne soirée!!!

Thank you, I appreciate discussing this with someone with intelligence.......

Rubbish. It's simply.hard for Leavers to debate with facts when there are no facts to support their arguments. Simple

Absolutely 100% utterly clueless analysis which demonstrates your complete lack of understanding and knowledge of Irish history and politics.

He is leader of the least republican party in the State and is ambivalent towards Unionism. He is alluding to the unique changed circumstances which will follow your no deal Brexit. Read a book or something before coming out with this guff.
