Odd knock ons of No Deal - a shortage of pallets.
I'm not an expert but isn't it a bit simplistic to say it's a myth that socialist governments spend more on infrastructure citing only one example, without context (not that I know what the context is in this case)Ah, not the right kind of socialist. Gotcha. The French state has always been among the largest in Europe though, which is perhaps uncomfortable for those pushing government here to do more, as their big state doesn't appear to produce any different outcomes to the smaller state in the UK. Hence why advocates of that kind of thing tend to trot out the Nordics as exemplars rather than the French, despite the French economy being a far more relevant comparison. Their government consistently spend 10% more of GDP than the British government does, and it doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference.
Your being utterly churilsh with the truth similar to Swinson is a yellow Tory with voting record that would Esther Mcvey consider compassion...
Picking countries that are very different from another both in size economically politically and historically, and then trying to view these countries through the narrow lense of typical Anglo definitions to rough shot a tired mantra, plays perfectly into Brexiteer attacks.
Nothing more dangerous than educated fools, as my father used to say..

The under investment in Germany by Merkel governments with her obsession with 'black zero' is well documented.Trying to say otherwise is very very Brexit enabling...Oh of course it is, just as it's simplistic to argue that Germany is on the rocks because of neo-liberalist somethingorother.
Yep, of course, son has studied and/or worked in three non-EU countries. But it is an advantage and benefit to have that right as part of EU membership which means a lot to those who wish to exercise that right with out impacting negatively on those who do not wish to exercise it.
Did you give any thought to my other point about about third parties giving better deals to big groups rather than small?
Also I wondered if your original point about (and I am paraphrasing) preferring to be a member of a group with USA rather than EU was tongue on cheek? I know your preference is to be independent overall but if you did mean it, what would be the advantages of being aligned economically and/or politically to the US?
it's 'when the fries are down'When the chips are down
We have more in common with the USA than the EU and as the five eyes proves we put more trust in our English speaking partners. When the chips are down who would support us either militarily or economically, USA, Germany or Spain....let me go further (Canada plus Australia and New Zealand) or ( Romania, Slovenia and Hungary) ?...
When I had a vote in Ireland I didn't generally vote for FG unless a candidate really stood out.
I am, however, glad Varadkar and Covney are at the helm for these negotiations.
dodgy as you like this, and when did america join in with the second world war?
that would only make sense if they held different positions.I think Varadkar is setting Coveney up to take the blame when it all goes tits up......
'I'm gonna hang out with Bill, because he acts quite hard, and i can be a right [Poor language removed] to anyone i want. Afterall, i am a complete [Poor language removed], why should i change? Extorting money to pay Bill will make me even better at it. Win-win.'We have more in common with the USA than the EU and as the five eyes proves we put more trust in our English speaking partners.
