You stated it was a stitch up, implying that the lack of Brits in leading positions is further evidence of how the EU hates us.

‘Implying’, come on Bruce it was a stitch up and we are leaving, so apart from in your mind why on earth would I imply what you wrote and then you rewrote as if it were now fact. I have no problem being challenged on anything I post, but not on something that I didn’t post......

So prior to these new appointments I guess the EC and ECB presidencies were the old classic Luxembourg and Italian stitch up.

No, always a Franco-German stitch up...making sure that either they both win or neither has the upper hand over the other......

You've lost me then I'm afraid. By calling it a stitch up, you're not suggesting that France and Germany monpolised the senior positions and left Britain out in the cold? If that's not the case, what exactly are you saying is a stitch up? As has been pointed out already, Germany hasn't had a president in donkey's years, so presumably you don't mean that as that's factually incorrect and I know you like to be on the button.

Bruce you are reading things into something I didn’t say. It was a stitch up between France and Germany, it has nothing to do with the U.K. as we are leaving.

Meanwhile the new German head of the commission is regarded as both a failure and the least capable member within the existing German government. Being ‘kicked upstairs’ may be fine for some in Germany but I’m not sure about the 500 million EU nationals.....even Martin Schulz the former German EU parliamentary president is disgusted at these backroom deals, saying that “Von der Leyen is our weakest minister. That’s apparently enough to become Commission president.”

Bruce you have argued this a democratic organisation and yet the argue through the night on who get what position ? why is it not the MEPs who vote for the top posts?
that's one of reasons why the population of 17.4 million in the UK voted OUT- Our Mps vote article 50 through then back track on the Leave vote ....
Oh and Clegg swore blind that there would never be an EU army with a TV debate on LBC with Farage who argued there would be ...... you can see why the Brexit party gains votes......
