Yes voted by the HOC by 6-1 on that ballot paper , and idiots like you - say no one knew what they were voting for it was so simple remain in the EU or Leave the EU ........ Leave won but.... remainer's moaned.......
The HOC voted to honour the result of the referendum which was a binary choice.. It did not tell them 'what people wanted' nor did it provide detail of what the outcome would be.

I have never, nor will I ever say, that all people didn't know what they were voting for, as my last post yo you in thread will attest to. What I do think is that significant numbers of people, not all, voted for something they believed would happen which is not and never will be possible.

Calling me an idiot won't change that.

@Joey66, Considering that you are always whining and whinging and playing the victim card, do you think it's sensible to use the phrase 'idiots like you' to another poster?

Greenland became the first and only country to leave the EEC by popular decree after a referendum was held in 1982. As part of the Danish Kingdom, Greenland had joined the Community in 1973 even though its citizens had voted against membership. Six years later, Denmark granted home rule to the island and a referendum was held, resulting in 52 percent of Greenlanders voting in favour of leaving, the same number as the UK vote. The relatively close result, says Vesterbirk, “had an enormous influence on the atmosphere. We were told again and again that the minority was just as big as the majority and we couldn’t do it,” he says. “I guess you will hear that in Britain as well. It’s the drawback of referendums in a democracy. You have to take it seriously, you have to live with the fact that the majority is the majority.”

There was an interview on Radio 5 live in the days after May announced Article 50 from those Greenlanders who negotiated their withdrawal, to say they predicted this and some more is an understatement. They also underestimated the complex nature of leaving, even for such a small member it was incredibly complex and compromised greatly their goals, which basically was just fishing rights at the time.

Brexit has done untold damage and confidence in the UK, no longer are we a serious and steady hand on the world stage, the threats from Brexiteers of tearing up ratified treaty's is so plain stupid, it really is so damaging to stamp ones feet over international law... Smaller countries such as the Daines cannot believe their luck as they even have fingers on our danglies.

what other way is there. this back stop is not wanted.

we are leaving with no deal on October 31st … so things need to be in place

why cant we move with the times, Ireland is much more settled these days and i cant see why a united Ireland wouldn't work, Scotland have wanted independence for an age, and this would be the right time, as they are staunchly remain in the EU
Only the DUP don't want it pal. Even Rees Mogg has voted in favour of May's deal recently. So, imagine we decide to cede Ireland to the Irish, no referendum/border poll etc, do you think it would be a smooth transition? I have to say that I will be well impressed if you've thought this through?

its totally fine in this thread mate. racism slurs, bigotry , you name it you got it.

ohhhhh, its @Joey66 who has said it, expect an immediate life ban joe.

Thankfully the mod team are remainers so we can stand tall against the racism and bigotry and fight for the democratic majority of GOTland who wish for their bodily fluids to not be infiltrated by fear of foreigners and general signs of old age.

This mate
You, if you voted Leave again, would still have the Irish border issue to solve. I ask this question of the brexiteer elite on here quite a bit so how would you solve this problem? Would you accept the carve up of 'the UK' and separate customs arrangements for Britain and the six counties or would you just give Ireland back to the Irish? Otherwise, how would you solve that problem mate?
Think that question deserves it's own thread mate. Think it may get even more heated than this one.

As it regards Brexit, there needs to be a special arrangement, but this was said from the start so I don't understand why it's still causing ructions.

Personally, having NI part of the Single Market would have done it for me. It would have been great for the NI economy too as lots of business's that trade with the EU regularly would be seriously thinking about setting up there. It's only become a political issue really because May lost her majority in the 2017 election.
