Now that people are informed, do you really think the vote would go the same way?

Not to mention the demographics of the vote, how many people have since died since voting leave? And it’s a well known fact that the younger generation is in favour of a European Union.

As I say, people who voted leave should evaluate their lives and see what it is that is so bad that they have voted to plunge this country into the unknown.

5th richest country in the World, we’re so hard done by.
And when we leave we will still be the 5th richest country in the world

Do you think we will have climbed up to 4th by then

:D only if one of them decides to down tools for a year.

Even if Brexit is a success in the long term, there will still be shock to the system over the short term. Markets do not like unpredictability and confidence will be low from consumers, so output will slow as everybody adjusts and feels out the new arrangements.

This of course is when we are out out. So this would only happen in the case of a no deal or something similar that does not have a transition period. If we would have left on May's deal on Friday things would have been normal-ish until the transition had ended.

What has made the UK economy do well?
Being in the EU

You couldn't make it up

Also, a tiny % of people control most of that wealth

The banking services would be worth 5 or so % of GDP and they are all queuing up to leave the UK in the event of restrictions with freedom of movement. That is just one little bit of the puzzle. All the money that those bankers spend helping keep afloat other businesses and what they pay in tax just disappears. But don't worry everything will still be ok.

It's a bit like the Monty python black knight sketch, no arms and legs but still the leavers cry 'tis but a scratch!'

More like something out of blackadder

I have to say that politicians never fail to amuse. This week the deputy leader of the DUP, Nigel Dodds, said that if it was a choice between weakening the union within the UK or a veto for leaving the EU then he would go for the veto of Brexit. This is the same man who states regularly, when challenged in regard of Northern Ireland voting to stay in Europe, that it was a UK wide vote and the majority has to be respected.
Imagine, a politican with double standards, who would have thought it.

I don't think you're in any position to make this claim.
I dont use the powers as Google like you do if you were in a School exam you would be caught out for cheating.......
I still see you have not answered my post on the audit of the EU Budget ....?
3 times I requested it , yet you post this rubbish trying to demean me ........

Is there an insinuation here that this is some sort of conspiracy and isn't as it seems?
There are a loads of right wing nutters around, not just in this country but around the world and across every race and religion, and it's fair to say that they are responsible for most of the hate flying around and most likely practically all of the serious hate crime too. I agree with you on that, assuming that's your stance.

I also accept that we, in the UK, have a problem with right wing thugs, and that they are very capable of being behind these threats that we are seeing.

A lot of this hate is prevalent on social media and the authorities, despite having massive amounts of modern technology at their disposal, are seemingly unable to do anything about it. So obviously whoever are perpetrating these death threats are able to cover their tracks, so must have access to sophisticated internet security technology themselves.

We know for certain that the Russians use social media to undermine and destabilise countries, and to try and affect election outcomes. The notion that they may be behind a lot of the hate being spread on social media is not so much a conspiracy as a logical extension to what we already know. The alternative of course is that it's nothing to do with the Russians, which means that there must be a well structured and well financed organisation behind the right wing thugs, which is even more of an issue.

The problem is that we don't know for certain who is behind it, and therefore can't do anything to tackle it, which means it will continue. That is the real problem here and what we should be striving to get to the bottom of. That's all I'm saying.
