I’m not always convinced it is you know . He was criticised when he allowed an unprecedented third amendment in relation to the absence of the referendum bill and I think he pushed us significantly closer to a no deal Brexit whilst I personally heard on the tv and radio a number of ERG members praising the decision the other day. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure his opinions on Brexit are closer to mine than yours but I do think he mostly does what’s right .

He was going round with a b*ll*cks to Brexit sticker on the back of his car.

Although I actually sympathise with his views I can't for one minute think him particularly fair in his dealings on this issue, and that's despite wanting much the same.

To virtually put aside all the accusations of bullying because having such a man on 'our' side with brexit is despicable imo too.

Like a bad referee he likes the news to be all about him and never misses the opportunity to grandstand and treat others with contempt.

I was out today in the street of Kemptown with
@itvnews
, a vast majority want to remain and have a final say vote on deal vs remain. Unfortunately at the end of the day a man came up and started shouting at the TV crew and me. Saying MPs are the problems & we are traitors.

Well his wife’s car but I take your point however that doesn’t alter my point to be honest . Im
Still not convinced his decision the other day didn’t help the leavers . I’ve certainly not put anything aside I’ve merely spoken about three decisions he’s made in this process.

Is it?. If it is I'll completely hold my hands up and say fair do's. But I genuinely thought that agreement involved Northern Ireland specifically being a member of the EU customs union and single market.
On re-reading, you're right but what you're proposing is special status for NI that guarantees frictionless tariff free trading with the south while tariffs are imposed on goods leaving the island to the UK or EU. This would mean that the whole island would be subject to tariffs or checks with the rest of the EU, therefore not a runner.
The most straightforward way to work this is a backstop with NI remaining in the single market till there's a trade deal. This is such a blindingly obvious simple solution that it beggars belief that the DUP are in the position where they can hold the whole of Europe to ransom.
If the UK government had taken the route they originally agreed to, they would have exited the EU by next week and started trade negotiations, these negotiations would have been very favorable as the main aim would have been to harmonize markets to minimize any disruption at the border.

He's fairly even-handed, some just go on and on about the decisions that go against them, forgetting when it's the other way round.
I think he's done a good job trying to maintain the integrity of the HoC with a pm and government continually trying to subvert it.

How can they protect the integrity of the single market though , which is at the very core of the EU If we don’t deal with the border . We can’t simply expect 27 nations to abandon their core principles to indulge our ideas of sovereignty. Not to mention when we’ve already had people talking about how great it’ll be to deal with the US who are taking about how our food regs will be different . We want our cake and to eat it and we’re surprised the EU haven’t pandered to us .
Sorry mate but can you expand on this a bit further. I'm not sure I fully understand the point you are making.

When goods are exported from Ireland to mainland EU, the documentation and bills of lading will stipulate country of origin so they will know which originated in the UK for the purpose of whatever controls/levies are in place. And surely anybody trying to bring in foodstuffs (such as from the US) that don't meet their standards are guilty of smuggling so will be running those risks.

Bruce. Why don't you go and read the specific reasons why people have been criticising Bercow and respond direct if you have an issue, rather than make generalised comments.

I have no problem with his statement today. It's his inconsistencies and lack of impartiality at times that are out of order for a person with his responsibility and power. I accept that the lack of impartiality is in your favour so you won't have an issue with this.

He's almost the only person standing up to May. Thank goodness someone is.

Lines are drawn lads. It's a no deal unless the HOC stages a coup next week... And they won't have the will or balls for that.

For all the bluster of the remain campaign....

Sorry Harry, that reference to putting things aside...was not pointed at you at all, although I accept it could easily be read that way, it was meant to be about the MPs who are quite content to have a bully carry on as long as he's on the right side on the biggest issue.
