Does the fact that the vote was almost 50/50 not tell anyone anything?

It tells me there are very polarised views.

The reality is that if the EU was so good then how come our country has struggled in so many ways as a member.

The reality is equally that leaving won't solve all our problems, nevermind over night. I just feel it gives us the best basis to move forward and prosper.

@Wizard is just totally ignoring the will of the majority here..

No you can't just revoke article 50.

This is what the referendum was called for in the first place.
I’m not ignoring anything. Read my post again. We can legally revoke article 50 with no 2nd referendum. As I then said it would be politically toxic.

Didn’t say we should, just said we could.

I’ve tried not to bite too much but here goes.

In your religion analogy, citing believing in fairytales. Religious people believe things with no facts backing them up, non religious use facts to inform themselves against the “fairytales”.

In this case, there are actual facts about how Brexit will damage us, at least in the short term, and zero facts about how remaining will damage us in the long run.

Feel free to tell me some facts from your side to make me believe by all means.
I haven't got enough time tonight mush

I wonder if the extension is granted, will it change the likes of the divorce bill and U.K. continueing to contribute to the EU pot.

The European elections look another cost, it cost the U.K. 108 million to run the last European election.

Please stop dissing with me mate. You know full well what hypothetical means.

We are talking here about the principle of UK MEPs using the platform in the European parliament to speak out against the UK parliament policy. In both the hypothetical scenario and the Farage case this is what happens. So surely, if you're going to be consistent in this you have to say that it's either ok for both of them to use it, or wrong for both of them to use it. Personally I'm fine with it as I said.

I also asked you another hypothetical question which you didn't reply to. And that is how you would feel if remain won the first referendum and then 2 years later were pushing for a second referendum
A lot of people who voted leave seem to have an issue with a second referendum (People’s vote) on the basis that it’s all about remainers not accepting the initial vote.

But they couldn’t be further from the truth. The people’s vote is about giving the public a second chance to vote on leaving the EU based on a specific deal or remaining.

Either way the people will know the full details and impact of us leaving the EU based on the deal. Something that was missing from the original referendum.

it’s not about bitter remainers it’s about proper democracy.

Ok put it this way.

I’d like the country not to press the self destruct button.

If we leave the EU, we will become Little Britain. We will have no trade deals, our economy will tank, we’ll pay through the nose for anything imported, we’ll have difficulty exporting things, many will lose their jobs, medicines including vital lifesaving insulin will be in short supply, the list goes on.

But yeah, carry on.

Someone needs to grow a pair and do just that.

Think you need to grow a pair. That's scare mongering at its finest! Lots of countries survive and prosper without being part of the EU.

Explain to me again ... How will our economy tank? Why will insulin be in short supply? Will they stop producing it? Why will we have difficulty exporting things?

I wonder if the extension is granted, will it change the likes of the divorce bill and U.K. continueing to contribute to the EU pot.

The European elections are a different matter, it cost the U.K. 108 million to run the last election.

All of that will currently be in the hands very highly specialised lawyers you'd imagine. They will be frantically looking for some way they can extend the mandate of the current UK MEPs to avoid the issue of the European election.

People are just taking it for granted that an extention will be granted!

They've made it perfectly clear there won't be one

What about the potentially very large number of people who would want to leave but not with Theresa May's deal?

That's the issue with your point. I reckon 20% + of the electorate would prefer a no deal.
