yes weve already had this vote. but the people in charge of enforcing don't seem to want to do it.

time to elect a party / leader who will enforce the will of the people.

there will not be a 2nd vote, as if goes to remain, then the brexiteers will want a 3rd vote, and so on and so on, that is NOT democracy
Because voting is undemocratic?

It's risky because all 27 countries have to agree and there are rumours that Spain might veto it. It may be that the UK has to revoke Article 50 as the only way of avoiding the no deal scenario.
As somebody who believes May's deal as the best way forward for us now, I actually find that somewhat reassuring if true. Good old Gibraltar.;)

I see that as playing into May's hands. I know you posted recently that the DUP/ERG actually prevented Brexit last night. That's only partly true. There were a further 250+ MPs who also prevented Brexit happening last night. And the vast majority of those will see a no deal Brexit as the absolutely worst case scenario. May could bring back her deal on the 28th with it being a straight choice of deal or no deal. Obviously no deal is what the ERG want and, according to you, the DUP too. But there are over another 250 MPS that don't want a no deal, and May only needs around 75 of them to vote for her.

All of this is pure guesswork of course.

As regards revoking article 50, there is zero chance of May doing this. So it has to be a motion put forward from the floor and has to be done pdq as it has to go through statute.

In the process you'll be setting new precedence for law making in the UK. Personally I can't see it plus I don't think there would be a majority in the commons for it anyway.

TBH, I think the jigs up for you and people who want Brexit.

I was for Remain (just and with little enthusiasm for a capitalists club), but I always have respected the result of the referendum and believe that it had to be fully implimented.

However, it isn't going to happen. A coup against a democratic mandate has been successfully carried out.

That's the system for you. You've been had off, along with 17.4m others.

why would we do that? That's not going to happen. 52% of people in this country voted to leave the EU. They didn't vote for any deal... they voted to leave.

No government is going to go against that
I’ll have to correct you on this one.

52% of the people who voted in the first referendum voted to leave. Not 52% of the entire U.K. population.

Since that first vote I reckon at least a million old codgers have gone to their social club in the sky and another 2 million youngsters are now eligible to vote. Also the numbers don’t make allowance for the apathetic millions who couldn’t be arsed to vote first time around.

The demographic has changed massively

And? The vote happened. The result stands. Those 2 million might be leave voters.

And if leave won again?.... Would you wait another 2 years and go again?

There are 2 absolute certainties that remainders need to get into their heads

There won't be another referendum
There won't be a revoke of article 50

There’s still plenty of twists and turns in this one.

I’m a remainer but also a realist. If we do have to leave the EU, then I wish for the softest Brexit possible.

The PM said in the HOC during PM's Question Time today that another referendum and the revoking of Article 50 remain a possibility. So if you know better than Ms May then you'd better give her a call and let her know.

She is using it as a threat to her own party to vote for her deal. Nothing more.

Ken Clarke the biggest remainer in the Tory party said today there is no chance of revoking article 50
