ERG chair Jacob Rees-Mogg has told Kay Burley that the ERG haven’t yet decided which way to vote on the new meaningful vote this evening. JRM says the ERG will be meeting at 5pm to discuss whether the threat of no Brexit is real or “phantom”. Only if Brexit is at risk altogether will they consider voting for what is still a “bad deal”…

The key is the date to that extension - the EU have said end of May max (as this when European parliament elections start) - if it's longer than that then UK will have to put up and vote for MEPs (provided EU agree, which I think they would).

Basically if we want anything meaningful to happen (2nd ref or GE) then we will have to be involved in European elections.

The only way to get round this is to pass May's deal on third reading, have no deal or try to get a Norway type deal through parliament quickly.
It doesn't help that the EU have already allocated some of our seats to other member countries who are currently under representedlol (apparently their rules call for a maximum number of MEPs).

our country is an utter disgrace.

can we all agree on that ?
A shower of manure the deal itself apart from the backstop is crass - glad it will go down we should have been out inside a month then negotiated with the beurocrats in the EU....
17.4 million voted out, not over a 3 year deal where 75 percent of MPs are Eurocrats.......
To behave like spoilt children.....

My word. At last, a semi sensible idea to get this kinda sorted. I think.

Mays deal will be defeated, no doubt. So we leave anyrate, with a 2 year window to tie up all the trade and regs stuff. So we leave, but dont really. Not immediately.

They must have missed something.

We should've been outside the EU before we negotiated a withdrawal agreement....

Brilliant!
