I accept they probably didn't ask @peteblue but the findings that 71% of pensioners (with their triple locked pensions) would happily blow up the economy to deliver Brexit underlines the madness we're dealing with.

It's their train set, and they can' t take it with them.

Also on the 'trading with the world' thing, I know Stanford don't really know much about business (and Johnson said we should do rude things to business), but their analogy is like jumping from a plane without a parachute - https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/insigh...-business-jumping-out-plane-without-parachute
It's nonsense the 'we can trade with the world' line, I've yet to be given any reason as to why it's preferencial to be trading with Africa or Asia rather than the EU.

An interesting chart. So a majority of 18-24, 25-49, and 50-64 year olds would also vote similar. So apart from the fact that the over 65’s display more decisiveness, what point do you believe you have proven......

So Gavin Williamson wants to up Britain's use of hard power against growing threats, such as Russia, in the aftermath of Brexit to 'reinvent our image in the world', yet it's the mirage of the EU Army that will be poking Russia. @peteblue you're being mugged off here.

Williamson is an idiot. He’s trying to make himself look tough. The U.K. will only send the QE ROI the South China Sea, a route incidentally that I believe accommodates about 20% of our International trade, within a grouping of other nations, all of whom wish to show that a route will be kept open. This has nothing to do with Russia and everything to do with the International Law of the Sea.....

I didn’t post it , For me I think the illustration is that Brexit is more important than just about anything else . Finances and personal hardship don’t matter , although I suspect like most things people perceive it’ll effect others rather than themselves so perhaps it’s easier to dismiss on that basis.

A lot of people , who seem hugely keen on sovereignty and the importance of our country the union flag for example , seem perfectly happy to lose at least one member of that union and with 20 years very possibly two all to ensure Brexit goes through .

Brexit is all consuming, it’s been said before it’s almost a religious fervour that makes everything else worthy of sacrifice to ensure those who believe get what they want . Like with people who are totally engaged in their religion, at least a part of me is I suppose a little bit jealous of that belief . Just a little bit mind .

Yeah...well...you...can...prove...anything...with...facts...but...why...don't...you...put...your...books...down...pick...up....a...flag...and...some...proper...reading...like...the...express...and...support...this...country...rather...than...rubbishing...it..................

What does the information actually tell us. What cause does the information prove. What did similar information look like, in similar two year blocks, over the previous 20 years. If you are going to quote information at least put some thought into its interpretation before trying to look clever, or in the latter quote looking silly.......

Why do you continually fail or refuse to see the point. It’s not an either/or scenario, we will trade with the EU and we will now go back to trading with the world without the EU drag factor.....

I think my comment can be seen in isolation of the graph.

Good to see you back in the thread Pete after your embarrassment of a showing on Saturday.

EU drag factor - like new trade agreements with Canada and Japan? No perceivable advantage to trading with the rest of the world as part of a bloc then?

You lose free movement of goods and services and potentially leave the EU with no deal, but don't worry we're free to trade our high technology, scientific research and financial services to goat farmers in Angola.

So when a British politician says stuff it's bluster, but when a Euro politician says stuff it's an indelible sign that we're going to have an EU Army and be jackbooted down the Mall?

You could, erm, read the report and find out all of those things Pete :) It's freely available. Should make it as easy as possible I suppose - https://www.resolutionfoundation.org/app/uploads/2019/02/Counting-the-cost.pdf
