That's not the point though, is it. It's campaigning to pander to xenophobes and racists that is the problem. During both of Obama's elections, there was so much chatter from the Right about how he was a Muslim and a terrorist. It was sickening really...but believe me the racists over here ate it up and spat it out to whomever would listen.

Fear politics works in an age of uncertainty

The Labour Party is riddled with anti semitism so a fair few anti Semites would have backed remain.
Silly isn't it?

The difference is mate, is that the anti-semites (let's just say they exist for arguments sake) wouldn't have voted for Remain because they're anti-semitic.

The racists, on the other hand, would have voted Leave because they're racist.

It will be up to British government to decide on immigration numbers. Brexit does not mean lower immigration, it simply gives our government the choice.

Perhaps voters will realise the LibLabCon all support mass immigration and will start to vote for a party that will reduce imigration.

I'd argue common sense tells us that the exiting of the EU needs to not go ahead in its current position. If there is no plan to go with then the vote was held under false pretences.

I stand by my choice but if the people championing a decision basically lied in their campaign and are going to stumble through the process potentially doing damage as they go then I would argue we need to take a step back and delay what will happen until we do, if at all .

How do you know they were unhappy at the transfer of power to brussels and being undercut by cheap foreign labour but just happened to be racist too?
How did Diane Abbott vote by the way?

1 - It's always been up to the British government to decide immigration numbers.

2 - You're right that Brexit doesn't mean lower immigration... but...

3 - It doesn't give the government a choice.

I wish people would just listen to a straight fact and accept it. You don't have to say "I'm wrong about Brexit", but you can say you were wrong about a specific point, and this is the straight fact - we cannot have free trade with the EU without accepting the principle of free movement of people whilst a part of either the EU itself or the EFTA.

Not if we want to keep the benefits of being in the single market. Which it looks like we do, by the way.
