hi well another day, loads of noise.
why don't the just own up say we are not leaving and cut the bull, I would actually have more respect for them than carry on with this bollocks that is fooling nobody,
they don't care what people voted but like to give the illusion they do,
so chip away daily to get to a situation were they can blame somebody else for the eventual outcome, we are staying in , sorry we tried it was that lot not us to blame so vote this way.

Mate Would you have been satisfied with may’s deal or is a no deal for you ? Don’t feel you have to answer because I know all this is kettling your head just trying to gauge your position on all this chaos .

Already said in the thread mate, would if asked to vote on the May deal or remain would have vote to remain as I can't see the point of a half in half out situation.
That goes for the likes of the Norway option as well.
In an idea world I would have liked a trade deal that had some common ground for people to get behind, I am not one of those people who says the other side's veiws should be ignored.
But I do think the referendum should have meant one hundred percent we are leaving.
The last two years should have been about how that happened and in what form, not party politics or trying to reverse the outcome of the vote.
It has been handled badly and no party or side has come out of it very well.
The already low esteem are political classes were held in has sunk even lower with all this , and I fear in the future that is going to get exploited.
No deal, can't see it happening in the real world both sides lose to much so even at the last minute would expect some sort of compromise,
For all the bluster there looks a strong possibility that a recession is around the corner , that tends to trump idealism when it comes to it at the end of the day.

Yup - he's about to have the rug pulled from under him. He's had a disastrous 2 years as opposition leader. Time to go Jezza, find a nice quiet pub, settle down and talk socialist politics with the punters - that's his limit I'm afraid. He's a nice guy, very personable, but never a true opposition leader and never in a million years PM material..

He is so far out of his depth it is unreal.

I mean, almost ten years of Tory austerity followed by the Brexit fiasco brought about by Tory faction fighting over Europe.

A United Nations report toward the end of last year highlighted the devastation and poverty the former has caused in many communities across England.

A bill passed yesterday which is going to deprive thousands of pensioners of thousands of pounds they cannot afford.

Brexit causing such uncertainty re the future of many worker’s jobs and the rights of those who are in work.

A Prime Minister who lost a vote by the biggest majority since parliament started in this country.

FFS it is the biggest open goal in history......a half competent Opposition leader would be confidently making plans for forming the next government, whenever the election eventually does come.

But this fellow?

He is actually trailing Theresa May in any Opinion Poll on leadership competency that I have seen.

Imagine that.....he is coming second in what ought to be a one horse race.

He is like an I Zingari league striker suddenly finding himself leading the line at Everton.

The thing is mate like I asked yesterday who campaigned for that . Everyone now seems to say out means out but as far as I can remember it see nobody of substance was advocating a no deal Brexit during thr campaign . All the major leave campaigners were talking about staying in the single market and EEA deals biut now that seems an anathema to everyone . I just wonder when it happened .

His tactic was to basically sit back and let the Tories shoot themselves in the foot, but it's backfired. He just looks weak with no solutions of his own. A bit of a troublemaker in a time of crisis.

Extract:
The main reason that the Belgian economy isn't growing as fast as it should be is because there aren't enough workers. You have quite a few available Walloons, but for some bizarre reason a lot of them are reluctant to cross the border to work in another linguistical area (and jobs over there are more scarce and pay less, it's not exactly big distances, - think ex-heavy industrial area that used to be a powerhouse but they can't reconvert it; no matter how much money the PS overlords throw at it). Just saying, one of the reasons why I like freedom of movement.

Most of the jobs available offer good salaries.

Well paid jobs available in Belgium! How many of the "no deal" leavers on here realise that if their wishes are carried out, that will remove the right for Brits to apply for such jobs and to live and work in other EU countries? There are millions of Brits who chose to work or retire outside the UK. In addition does not the UK economy depend to a large extent on nationals of EU nations working in UK?
All the arguement is about trade, WTO- Norway- Canada etc. About time more was said about the impact of Brexit on the lives of millions of people.

Thats idealogues in general but bemusing all the same!

No, you didn't. I'll ask again.

What is more representative of the democratic will of the people right now, today, in 2019:
1) A referendum in 2016 where we didn't know what a brexit deal would be, and was predicated on much misinformation.
2) A referendum in 2019 where the public know the deal that is on offer from the EU, as well as having a better idea what a no deal would entail for the country.

It's a simple 1 or 2 please, Pete.
so you want a replay I for one think the cost of it is astronomical once in a lifetime we got told - and the SNP would then push for their referendum - pathetic idea coming from the man who sold the post office off to cheaply... sir vince should stick to come dancing.......

Personally don’t want to leave the EU but at the same time I’m worried about the social ramifications if the government don’t proceed with exiting. What an ill thought out mess.
I do want to leave the EU as its going to collapse anyway get out now while the going is good.... too many eggs in one basket and its expensive for us as we prop them up.....
