The EU have a bit to think about tonight. Merely repeating that no deal hurts the U.K. more than the E.U. isn’t really going to cut it with the 27 nations....some of whom, like ROI, Germany and Holland will get severely burnt if there is no deal......

... but Corbyn cannot force a second referendum unless he is the PM, or someone proposes it in a motion, he backs it and the Government - who would run it, remember - concede. Is there anything in the way Theresa May has acted these past two years that suggests she would do that?
Of course he can't force it but at least he could publicly support it which would give it momentum.

But he won't do that because he's as euro-sceptic as the arch Brexiteers, the very people he is supposed to be against. He even sucked up to the DUP such is his lust for power.

Absolute hypocrite, same as the Tories. The whole lot of them should get in the bin.

How is he being a hypocrite if he isn't calling for something he doesnt agree with?

Labour are just as divided as the Tories. Cameron wrecked the Tories with his Brexit vote, Miliband wrecked New Labour with his change to leadership elections. The whole thing is an unholy mess.

Labour are nowhere near as divided as the Tories are on this (the division over Europe is at least as much as it is about Corbyn as leader) and whilst you are technically correct (Miliband's change did wreck New Labour) what Miliband did was actually the thing that led to the resurrection of the Labour Party. By any measure - vote share, number of votes, number of seats, financial performance, number of members - things have improved since he did that.

So essentially tonight is the end result of holding a referendum on the EU, having all the ones on the winning side bail and not take responsibility, the pm who called for the vote to immediately quit.

Oh and have a party / government made up of people who disagree with the referendum result then go and try and action it despite not wanting to .......

Are people really surprised?
