That's the problem when you don't have any conviction or policies, you just end up looking like a twerp. Labour should ditch him and bring in a staunch remainer, at least there would be some clear blue water between the parties then.

Or bring in a staunch Leaver. Either way they need a leader......

I see that the BBC are pushing their ‘we must move article 50’ as if it was a known fact of life. All the talking heads will do this without understanding that we voted to Leave, and we still want to leave......

She won't be allowed to do that by parliament. She will fail to get agreement and then will be left with the choice of leave with no deal or hold a referendum.
She has said there will be no referndum would there be time to change the law and organise one , not sure myself of the mechanism of it all?
No she is like a long playing record , and should have resigned tonight 2 &1/2 years for a leave plan that was disastrous legally binding Brexiteers or remainers never liked it - hence the thumping defeat tonight....
She also made it worse by delaying it......
Whoa... hang on there mate I am not endorsing her, just pondering what her game is.
She is like a cockroach mate just when you think she is dead she always springs back to life so don't right her off just yet.

It seems that May's Plan B is going to be exactly same as Plan A: go back to the EU and ask them to renegotiate an agreement which isn't going to be renegotiated. Does she really believe that the EU will favour the interests of a country that is leaving over one that is remaining ?

The chances of a no deal Brexit have just gone up significantly after that vote. The only way out of it is another referendum which seems impossible when the Leader of the Opposition is holding out for an election instead. Absolute shambles.

Markets are betting in another referendum judging by the sterling rally since the vote.

I don’t believe it will happen. A GE could be explained away. Another referendum will cause mayhem because why should the next vote count when the first didn’t. The markets may be actually hoping that a ‘better deal’ results.....

... but Corbyn cannot force a second referendum unless he is the PM, or someone proposes it in a motion, he backs it and the Government - who would run it, remember - concede. Is there anything in the way Theresa May has acted these past two years that suggests she would do that?

So far he’s enacting what was set out at conference by party members.

It’s really not hard to grasp

Oh it is. They were bemoaning him not calling a confidence vote, now they are bemoaning him calling for one, and when he does back a second referendum they will claim it was down to them. Then they'll blame him for not fighting it in the right way, and if Remain wins he will be the absolute last person to get any credit for it.

Either that or a withdrawal of article 50 and a reset to negotiations, whether that's possible. They certainly aren't betting on a no deal exit.
