She has no political future now regardless. Tory party is due a good civil war anyway. As long as they can keep Farage and Banks etc out if the Tory party it's a win.

I don’t believe it will happen. A GE could be explained away. Another referendum will cause mayhem because why should the next vote count when the first didn’t. The markets may be actually hoping that a ‘better deal’ results.....

I understand that, but he is not the kind of bloke who can pretend to support what he doesn't. He's spent his whole career as an MP standing up for his beliefs, and now he's trying to fudge a massive issue for fear of alienating people, and it isn't working.

Are you suggesting we hold a referendum every two and a half years

I'd rather rid of fixed term Parliament act, so we can boot out failed governments like this one. Also believe EU referendum should not have been held at all our EU membership and status should be party policy of a government in waiting. Referendum is incompatible with UK democracy, hence the mess we find ourselves in. It's ok for flippint things like drinking alcohol on Sunday or something similar, but not this.

Labour MP on the radio said the same thing, go for the off chance of a GE, but then push for a Second vote if the GE is a non runner
