No doubt , interesting how we interpret that depending on our view I suppose . Having not seen it I find the idea troubling she saw it as visionary, it’s looking at things through the Brexit microscope again I suppose .
The Leave campaign just got an edge from it, they were slightly ahead of the curve compared to the remain side, if the remain campaign had the same option they would have used it, Mercer offered the services of AggregateIQ to Farage during the Brexit campaign, the same services used in getting Trump elected, Arron Banks the main donar in the Leave.EU campaign used Cambridge Analytica to target voters.

It's game changing for politics from here on in, similar methods will be used by both sides in any vote involving the public from here on in.

That Brexit an Uncivil War was good last night, especially the statements at the end before the titles.

The leave campaign used two companies, Cambridge Analytica and AggregateIQ to target voters to swing the vote, the remain side were doing similar but nowhere near as cutting edge and sophisticated.

Both these companies have ties to the US billionaire Robert Mercer, who was involved in the Trump election campaign and was the single biggest donor to Trump.

Basically these companies had the deciding factor in both Brexit and Trump being elected, is the conclusion you can draw from it.
As you hint at I'm sure the message of this programme goes a long way beyond the issue of brexit or this referendum in isolation

Absolutely it does, was the vote manipulated is the question?, don't all public votes involve manipulation on both sides anyway, for sure, it's the name of the game.

The Leave campaign definitely had a edge in this battle, I think that is clear.

Knocking on doors and asking for support for your campaign has been replaced by very clever targeting of voters through social media, where they have collected data on millions and know who to target best to gain more votes, over a billion targeted adverts were sent by AggregateIQ for the Leave campaign to would be voters.

But focusing on lies is that healthy ? As I say I haven’t watched the programme but millions of Turks arriving in the U.K. and £350m a week to the nhs they’re lies aren’t they ? Feeding the fantasy perpetuated by the bloke in the pub , UKIP , the edl and the right wing press can’t be healthy for democracy can it ?

There were lies and spin on both sides mate, as happens in every general election, how many governments claim they'll do this and do that to get into power and go back on those promises once elected?, could Turkey join the EU and could we see an influx in migration from that country?, it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

In the EU referendum both sides were playing the same game, just one side was Guardiola and one side was Allardyce not employing the latest training methods.

I don't think that's true whatsoever. If you look beyond the huckster politicians and look at what kind of individuals and organisations backed either camp, you'll find a whole bunch of very respectable people who had done an awful lot of respected analysis of the pros and cons all leaning to one side. I mean are you seriously accusing the likes of the Bank of England of deliberately lying to sway the vote? For real?

"Could Turkey join the EU"

No. It's as simple as that. At least for now anyway.

Deliberately lying, perhaps not. We shouldn't pretend though that the Bank of England, and Mark Carney in particular, do not have outside interests and are truly apolitical.

The Bank of England has been wrong before with their projected forecasts as you damn well know, massive project fear campaign on the remain side.

Free speech does not give anyone carte Blanche to abuse and intimidate who they like.

Plenty of MP's have spoken on the subject and probably voted on the subject of hate speech

Have you even seen the title of some of the threads on here (Scummy Tories). Just try uttering the name of Margaret Thatcher and then you will see real abuse. Soubry is an obnoxious self important cow, and always has been. But just because she is an avid Remainer, all the Remainers on here are jumping to her defence and acting holier than thou.....

I wonder why Margaret Thatcher is so toxic on an Everton forum, perhaps you should look into her philosophy of "managed decline". As for Soubry; I'm most definitely not a Europhile and I completely her politics and her as a politician, but the language you use against her is nothing short of a disgrace. Don't try and engage in reasonable debate if you're going to act like that.

So was Joe pushing the lawnmower or what???
