Ha don't know why that duplicated!

And amazingly May took the bait there and has backpeddled, setting out the vote for w/c 14 January.

A rare well done for Corbyn.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the leader of the opposition get the prime ministers statement in advance? The cynic within me is saying he already knew May would confirm the date of the next debate/vote.

In advance can mean 20 minutes before.

I think Corbyn got it late. Or he had it in advance and has played politics with the threat, making it look like May has bowed down to his demands.

Either way, good politics from him. It wouldn't have made sense for him to call for a confidence vote right now; it'd be much more effective once May's deal fails in parliament.

Completely agree. The numbers really don't stack up at the moment, he'll have to get the DUP and/or some members of the ERG to budge and come on side. Going to be very difficult

More like Playschool this. It is difficult to believe that the future of the UK is at stage when its leaders are behaving like spoilt schoolchildren. An extension of Article 50 should be sought until someone can get a grip of what's happening.

Not sure why you have to generalise, only one 'leader' decided to postpone their important vote that looks likely to fail with the clock ticking down and contingency measures required.

Maybe because from an outsider's point of view it looks like no-one is prepared get a grip of the situation and the UK is fast heading for a no deal Brexit which would be calamitous for everyone.

That’s because the Tories are actively trying to stop anyone from getting a grip on the situation.

For instance, I note with no surprise at all that the Remain Tories (or at least Morgan and Djangoly) seem to have abandoned the People’s Vote today, now that it is a plausible thing that they might be asked to vote against the Government on. Also the ERG will also be backing the PM they all said last week was rubbish as well it seems, if there is a no confidence vote.

It’s almost as if they are more loyal to their party than their country, or indeed their ideals.

What is Corbyn's plan on how to deal with Brexit ?
