Michael Portillo on This Week told Andrew Neil stated last December the Irish backstop would bite her in the arsp - he was spot on.......
Where does she go from here?............

This bit though is hardly big news joe , it’s not like he’s predicted the lottery numbers this was obviously going to be the issue since it dawned on just about everybody that the Irish border is the situation that cannot be resolved . I said yesterday where I grudgingly agree with May is where she challenged her opponents , Brexiteers and remainers, to do more than heckle from the sidelines but actually seek to provide solutions. The erg are shouting they’ve got a solution but they won’t share it because they haven’t that’s got to be clear to everyone

Where does she go from here ? Your guess is as good as mine .

No she should have not put a backstop that went against the promises of the Irish people and both remainers, and Brexiteers...... every time she opens her mouth its a misleading quote ........ how stupid can a politician be she sold the DUP down the road they were keeping her in power then signed up an insurance policy of staying in the EU for in perpetuity.... then she stands there yesterday, and suddenly realises it was a mistake.... she should have been got rid of after the GE or if we had an opposition other then Corbyn, She would have never got in her record of HS was appalling now she is PM..........

Again i appreciate what your saying but it doesn’t really deal with what I said .Also in fairness to the Irish people, I think 90% of the island want to stay in the EU.

I’m not a supporter of may far from it but she hasn’t said it’s a mistake she’s said she’s listened to the house and doesn’t think it’ll get through . I know this is every few weeks but for the life of me what’s the answer , nobody is coming up with one. Everybody, on all sides , Is shouting this is no good but nobody is providing answers just prattling about sovereignty , hard Brexit or super Canada plus. It’s all meaningless, has anybody provided an actual workable alternative to the backstop ? Other than freedom of movement or staying in , both of which I think we can dismiss .

Back to a question posed all the time on this thread by some of us who have said that the Irish border question was not solvable in the context of an EU negotiation; what is the solution? It is plainly not going to be solved by May. The crackpots in the DUP and ERG don't have a solution. Corbyn doesn't have a solution at this moment in time. Nobody on here, Remainers or Leavers, have a solution within the EU context. The person/party/government that solves the Irish border issue will unlock the EU question, and while we pander to the DUP (who represent a minority point of view in Northern Ireland) there will never be a solution. Let's face it, the problem is the border.

Exactly and for all my dislike of May she’s right to say “come on then what’s your idea “ , because it’s clear they can’t answer.

In your opinion - tell me how atm goods with different Vat rates and custom duties different currencies go over an open border this conundrum has been definitely been set up by the EU as in the campaign to leave it was never mentioned by either side before the vote ......
The North don't want a hard border neither does the republic, and neither does the UK - but the EU who had nothing to do with the GFA never signed it legally kick the dirt up they are like a mafia of turning over results of referendums - end of.......
I am convinced that there is no need for a hard border as little trade is done with the EU anyway by Ireland most of the trade is with the UK..........
Everyone wants peace to continue - Brexit imo would not cause such problems , but the EU think differently .......

You’re not listening Joey, you’re not listening because you don’t want to.

You evidently know nothing about the Irish border, but putting that to one side for a minute, your 'British' border in Ireland would be unprotected from them pesky foreigners as it is an unmanned border. How do you plan to treat Northern Ireland immigrants/illegal immigrants exactly the same as those arriving on the mainland? Ireland is different to the mainland, and no nonsense from Arlene Foster or the other crackpots changes that. You cannot have Brexit without a prior solution to the Irish border question. This has been a problem since the creation of the artificial border nearly 100 years ago. That, @Joey66, is a long time before the EU was formed. It is a problem that has been continually been kicked down the road since then. Sound familiar @Joey66?
This is the time in history when one of two things prevail;- either the GFA holds or Brexit does. I think it's that serious.

@Joey66, your ignore button is broke. Please hurry up and fix it.

Stopped reading after... 'put a backstop that went against the promises of the Irish people'.

Utterly laughable. Literally couldn't be further from the truth.

The hell, I just googled Ireland's trade balance. Apparently Belgium is Ireland's third biggest export market worth 11 percent (only one percent less than the U.K.); that was unexpected.

Act of Parliment 1922 says the people of Ireland can travel anywhere in the U.K. - endorsed on the GFA in the 1990's
Any other EU national would be checked if try to arrive in the U.K. Just as if they were entering from Southampton or any other EU airports or sea link...My ignore button is like @Mark O'Silver button.....
