Because they dont want a No Deal neither. You know all them "chaos at the ports" and knackered supply lines stuff that gets lobbed at us? It will apply to them as well.

If they can give May a kernal that will get the deal through the HOC, in other words some way we can leave the backstop, game is back on.

They don't want no deal, but they arent going to sacrifice the Irish to save someone who they know is in severe political difficulties.

I must have missed something. Understandable.

I thought the backstop was there to allow a free border there until a workable solution was arrived at. The problem a lot of MPs have with it is that even if an ace solution is found, tech most likely, the UK still cant leave unless the EU let us.

IF the EU now water that down, then we might see a result. If not. Bump.

I'm not sure what the EU could give on the backstop, they need to be seen to be 100% behind their member country.
The tories, on the other hand, seem hell bent on keeping the DUP happy so that they can stay in power. They're putting party before country and it's leading to a dangerous stalemate.
UK politicians have backed themselves in to a corner and now have to decide between damaging democracy or badly damaging the economy.

The UK can leave if whenever it wants if it agrees to an NI only backstop. All this fillibustering is to keep the DUP on board. Call their bluff and the issue is resolved.

...and May has announced she is not allowing a vote on her deal to which The Speaker says is a “very disrespectful” course of action to take.

This Conservative Government truly don’t care, they have no principle, they have no values.
They’re finished as a political party. All we need to do now is bump Jezza off and it’s game on for labour.
