The sheer amount of pure bull manure coming out of May's mouth here is staggering.

How can Labour and the Tories not be calling for a no confidence vote here? Has integrity completely gone out the window now?

With Brexit firmly the central, even only, issue in play, what would be the point? If she reckons she can get sommet out of the EU re the backstop, which she seemed pretty sure she could, surely at this stage, the responsible thing is to wait till any concessions are made.

Or the MPs could play daft political games.

She will get nothing out of the EU re the backstop, or anything else. Why on earth would they give her anything?

May Should have gone in July after that Chequers plan in July, woeful and cowardly PM hiding behind fixed term Parliament pretending to stubborn.

Maybe, but she didnt. We are where we are now. The least we should wait for is what she can get out of the EU at this late stage.

She literally lied about the deal being the end of it and no further negotiations can be made.

There should come a point where politicians act with integrity and get rid of the failure. It shouldn't even be a Leave/Remain issue now - it should be every single MP looking at that failure and deciding it's a matter of competence.

Well in the debate earlier, she repeatedly said she was confident the concerns the HOC had about the backstop could be sorted.

Remember, the EU have a long track record of last minute somersaults.

And why would they give her anything? Perhaps, just perhaps the CEO's of plenty of large EU companies have injected a degree of reality into the negotiators.

So, she lied. Big deal. (sic).

Point is, at this late stage I think there is zero to be gained until May comes back with whatever concessions the EU make. Or indeed dont.

Tusk just said "We will not renegotiate the deal, but we will negotiate the UK getting out of it" Sort of.

So, the sticking point of a timeless backstop is back on table with the EU.

The EU does those last minute changes of direction when they are under pressure; they are not under pressure with this - and they, like the CEOs of plenty of large EU companies - recognize the fundamental weakness of this Government.

Her confidence is that of the defeated, that of the man giving medals to brave 14 year olds on his birthday.

Read my post above yours. Could have misinterpreted it, granted.

what he actually said was:

.... she will get nothing, in fact she will probably offer them even more in a desperate attempt to get out

Yeah, just saw that. Could be seen in both lights I guess.

But either way, if she has meetings lined up, we must see what transpires before the MPs get demob happy.

It's good form to be found to be a liar some years after premiership has ended not found to be lying while in office!
