Quite ironic that the process to release undue influence from the EU over UK affairs has been negotiated to hand over control of that process to the EU and to disregard the procedures and protocols of parliament in such a ham fisted but determined manner.

Well she is working on getting the deal more likely to get through the HOC.

Zero chance of that happening, especially with the position she is in where she has no way of forcing concessions and her Government is so weak that Barnier et al couldnt be sure she would still be there in a weeks time.

The only way her deal gets past the Commons is if its the only possible Brexit and she threatens the ERG / DUP into backing it or there being no Brexit at all - it would be very unlikely, but without getting them back on board the deal is doomed.

Being (very) generous, brinkmanship deals are a trademark of EU negotiators. So perhaps she has played it this way to maximise the chance of a last minute deal on the backstop.

Or not.

But its a narrative not without merit.

I don't think there will be a brinkmanship deal (unless over something very minor that is actually only symbolical but for some reason is deemed important to a small group of people but worth nothing in the grand scheme of things). This is probably how good as it gets; or they can change the political declaration a bit but that's largely for keeping up appearances. She could be trying to postpone the whole thing long enough; so it's her deal,no deal, not enough time for another referendum... That could work. Suspense.

And after the whole withdrawal agreement they can start another round of negotiations. On average negotiating a comprehensive (trade) deal takes quite a bit of time.

Cameron and May history will be their legacy, and it will be woeful, from fixed term Parliament act to EU referendum, to red lines and Brexit means Brexit (but not leaving the EU). And not knowing when to quit, what a mess just settle a dispute in the Conservative party...

I would wait till the dust settles on May.

Cameron though, damned.

The sheer amount of pure bull manure coming out of May's mouth here is staggering.

How can Labour and the Tories not be calling for a no confidence vote here? Has integrity completely gone out the window now?

Not sure about the Tories, but Labour have to call it when they can win it - the ERG and DUP are still with May, so its pointless to demand one now - as the "support" of the SNP, Lib Dems and the cretinry of the PLP shows:
