Still amazes me how a prime minister can blunder through problem after problem that would have them walk and yet here is may still refusing to leave.

No matter what she is staying, even after messing up a general election!

Simple answer.....they have no one else.

Otherwise such a political lightweight would never be PM of this country.

But incredibly, she is the best man they have ;)

Who , whose your pick or even your shortlist
It's usually the front runners that fall away - Gove, and Hunt look like silent assassins, Gove has been offered the Brexit
Secretary position - yet to answer if the was ever a Brutus it's him - It's a dogs dinner of affairs it's anyone's guess the letters are nearly in to force a leadership challenge......

I just can’t see any viable contenders , raab might have a go but he’s just been part of bringing this to the table before he’s walked away from it . It’s a complete mess .

Its possible she could still pull this deal off, she would need the support of a split Labour on the issue and others, so she would have to canvass for individual votes who would prefer some deal to no deal. Unless the Tories implode, i dread to think who could succeed her.

Fantasy land mate. Labour will offer her no support at all. It's doomed.

It would be naive in the extreme to think May has not factored in the very high possibility of leadership challenges or votes of confidence before going live with this deal.

She certainly knew the DUP would be chucking a tantrum and threatening her with all sorts of consequences.

If she toughs it out and comes through it, her position within her party will be as good as unassailable for the foreseeable future.

In short, I believe there are rabbits buried deep in hats.

Don’t be be surprised if this woman, who has form as a consummate survivor, gets this deal through the House ;)

Joe.....what is to happen to the money the DUP extorted for NI but which has not been spent there yet?

I hope May takes it back
That will never happen as the next leader will need the DUP support - more worrying is the EU bill that is on an escalator what a mess typical remain civil servants have set her up she's not elequant enough and has lied through her teeth......

If it's any consolation, Verhofstadt was just on the radio and was pleased with the deal. If it gets voted down there will be no deal, no renegotiation. All the hard-brexit preparations are nearly finished, according to him.

Corbyn and McDonald won’t, that’s for sure.

But the Parliamentary Labour Party at large?

That is a different matter.

Corbyn is hated by dozens of his own MPs as much as May is hated by hers.

This would be the ideal time for a rebel leader to garner support for May among them.

For them it would be a twofer....sticking it up to Corbyn and the right wing of the Tory Party at the same time
