May doesn’t want us to leave the EU.

I wonder whether she has agreed this Dufff deal with a view to parliament rejecting it, forcing a general election and a hope that a new referendum will be agreed by the new government.

She couldn’t agree a new referendum on her watch.
Nah, you're giving her more credit then she deserves. May is just an outright coward, trying to appease everyone with a compromise and falling miserably in the process while making the whole situation a thousand times worse. She's clueless and honestly thought that a medium road was the best way forward. It simply isnt and never was. We either needed an ardent believer in Brexit to take us out or a remianer to say the government was simply going to ignore the referendum on the grounds that they considered it advisory. Instead the got this absolute embarrassment of a PM who'll go down as possibly the worst PM in history.

That may have been the case towards the end, but we have to remember that there were numerous well documented examples of Davies being woefully underprepared for the work required of him. Couple that with bungling idiots like Fox and Johnson alongside him, and I think there reached a clear point where May took it on herself to lead things. The architects of this mess were given an opportunity to run with it and they bungled it massively.
No fan of any of the Bruce , but I wouldn't be putting my name to something I felt wasn't what I wanted or had any input to, after its all over they will be the ones in history who will be put down as the Brexit minister.
May is a joke one of the Euro side was asked to describe her in dealing with this , he said she firmly says NO, NO, No till she says yes and we move on.

This tells you a lot about these ferrets in government by the way. They wouldn't resign last night because they wanted to test the waters outside of a cabinet meeting in case the wind was blowing in another direction.

So instead they were perfectly happy to leave that meeting 'supporting' May's 'deal'.

Contemptible jobsworths, the lot of them.
You couldn't make a backbone out of the lot of them, rats.
